Thumbs down Carb Solution Shakes

Eww! Eww! Eww! Just don't do it folks. They are DIS-GUS-TING! So sweet, it's not even funny. I couldn't even stand it. And I have a sweet tooth the size of China.

Hmm, how do you guys mix them? Maybe it depends on the mixture and amounts?

I really liked the carb solutions shakes. I buy the ones that are made already. The EAS one's are also good. Not as thick and less filling but lower in fat.

I don't buy the mix... I was talking about the pre-bottled versions.

Thumbs up hey. yeah

I like the chocolate pre-bottled ones ... the cappucino are a bit funky smelling, but they taste good.

I had 3 chocolate ones today ... LOL ...

I really like them too. The vanilla is a bit weird but the chocolate is good. I mix my own...in a blender or milkshake maker with ice is best. It tastes like a milkshake!

Default Interesting....

...that I'm the odd man out. I bought the pre-bottled ones ($5 for 4 shakes, ouch!) tried 2 sips of the chocolate and gagged. Maybe it wasn't shaken. Anyhow, I have three shakes left, so maybe I will have to give it another try.

Default Carb Solution Shakes

Where are you finding the pre-bottled shakes in Canada?? These are something I have NEVER tried... I have powders, but not pre-made. I actually would like to try them, mostly for curiosity so I know what the discussions about!

I'm in a smaller centre, so we may not have them available here, but I'm always working on a shopping list for when I get to Toronto.

Sharon, I never found them, or tried them. But my comment was related to my experience with other brands of shake powders. If they are sweetened, the taste and sweetness will depend on how I mix them.

Deirdre posted about finding Weider Protien shakes (prepared) at an Ontario Walmart recently .. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...&threadid=11123 .. I don't think Carb Solutions products of any kind are available in Canada yet.

I agree with Wa'il .. the powders vary wildly in sweetness taste and palatability. Some use just sucralose/Splenda to sweeten, some have aspartame, Acesulfame potassium, or even FRUCTOSE (, a carb). The better quality 100% isolated whey protein shakes taste good, and mix well without clumping. Too many of the soy-based shakes, (and I think the Carb Solutions does have soy in it, as well as whey) taste, well --- soy-ey. And some very fake flavours ... I tried the Dyna Whey chocolate-banana flavour ... and it was so fake tasting, almost bitter, that I could still taste an hour later. Ugghhh.

Cori, they have to be very chilled and well shaken, but I consider them one of my favorite protein shakes ... even when I am not on LC.

It's funny how different people have different reactions to foods.

ToeMan, there ARE carbs in milk.

Haven't you noticed the orange menu bar above, with the Tools section, where if you make 1 click, you'll see an online and very convenient Carb Counter? 2 clicks and you're there.

I use nothing else but Designer Protein.

http://www.designerwhey.com/2nd_lev...nfo_smooth.html

100% whey protein - the best. Mixer - ice, protein powder (liquid sweetnlow) a little water - whip it up, lots of protein - low in fat (that's just my own style) and yum. Very pricey from GNC, but I get it much cheaper off the web. http://www.planetdepot.com/ProductB...nufacturerId=13

It makes a mouse if you whip it up for a long time. So gooooood. Carbolite, Carb solutions and all the rest are just okay, but contain other ingredients I don't want/soy protein, maltodextrin, wheat gluten, caseine...designer protein also has TONS of vitamins and minerals in it...great stuff. Mix it up with eggs and you CAN make muffins/pancakes out of it...no kidding.
