Smile Tryin' to stick with it.

This is the last time I have to restart my woe. The weekends are so hard for me especially my weekends off from work. I eat like a pig, I give into cravings, and I starve my body of the things it really needs. I have been real honest with myself latley, I know I need to stick with it. I know no more candy, cookies, or pizza ! Any ideas what to do when home with kids on the weekend?

They aren't allowed that much candy or cookies. They do eat balanced meals on the weekends. I just can't. I get busy with all the stuff I can't do during the week and lose track of what is going on.

Buy a lot of low carb bars and shakes, they help me a lot. I am a chocoholic and they help me indulge while still losing weight. My cravings noware only for sweets so I take care of them with low carb chocolate. It wasn't like that at first but I think after being on this as time goes on I have less cravings. Just keep going, the cravings will be fewer anfd further between. If you crave something, eat something low carb instead. You need to go to Trader Joe's or a low carb store to add variety to the diet and to get things to fulfill the cravings.

Don't beat yourself up over the pizza. In fact, just look at it as an allowed food, just don't eat the crust. In the 3 months I've been into this WoE I have probably had more pizza than the 6 mos before I started. A few weeks ago I figured I was doing good, and a few pieces with crust wouldn't kill me. Well, it didn't kill me, but it tasted like crap. Real easy to avoid then : )

This may seem kind of coldhearted, but once the candy and cookies are gone, why buy more ? It isn't like the kids are going to suffer from malnutrition if they don't get enough sugar, right ? (they may fall asleeep earlier though !!). Start slowly weaning them off of the candy and cookies that are left, and replacing them with low GI fruits, cheeses and nuts.

I know you probably don't want to "punish" the kids for your WoE, but if all this stuff isn't really healthy for you, is it really healthy for them ?

Just remember, pizza is an allowed food ! (minus the crust) unless you have stalling issues with dairy products .

I eat pizza too, just the topping and a nice salad. Very filling. Yes, do your kids a favor and get rid of most of the sweets. I keep Atkins bars, and some candy bars LC ones and I like the EAS shakes, chocolate of course. I also like a nice big cup of hot tea with Splenda and cream.

Hang in there, and good luck.

Windy
