I have access to a smoke cesstation class which meets every Friday afternoon and the physician teaching it can write prescriptions for pills, patches, etc. There is also plenty of literature he offers with tips on alternative activities should a craving hit. I don't dispute anyone using literature if that works.
None of those things worked for me. I have been craving/smoke-free since Sept. 22, 2003. The only time I will "think" about a cigarette is if I'm doing a specific activity like drinking like drink coffee or orange juice. I don't even buy coffee anymore and OMG! My wine consumption has declined at least 90% or any alcohol consumption for that matter. I honestly don't crave the habit anymore. Cold turkey worked for you, congrats you applying the information from your book which I think is a tremendous success, but I needed to totally rid my body of toxins in order for me to be successful. I had a bloated abdomen, indigestion, depression, foggy thinking, my joints ached--the works. Fasting with a high caliber formula containing the proper nutrients will destroy and detoxify the body of old feces and parasites, thus further ridding the body of the symptoms decribed above. My skin, hair, nails, breathing, and especially my thinking and concentration is 99.9% improved.
My daily workouts are intense now. I'm no longer tired during the day. I drink my water and take high potency supps and eat 6 small meals, a lot of fruits, per day. Even though I did this while I smoked and pre-detox, I was always tired, my feet hurt, my tongue was coated, and I couldn't figure out why I had continual heartburn and acid reflux. Since I fasted for those two days, my body is cleansed. I cleansed further with a product called The Six-Way Cleanse without fasting. It is NOT a laxative or diaretic. It is an herb-based product that "sweeps" the colon and lymphatic system, blood, lungs, liver, kidneys, skin of old debris and restores the natural flora and healthy mucus to the colon.
Fasting has been a part of history dating back to BC. Many religions use this method as a rest for the digestive tract and to cleanse while praying and meditating. Most fasts begin at dawn and end at dusk. Some last can and do last longer. Fasting without proper nutrients and a clean bill of health from your doctor can cause problems, which is why this undertaking should only be exercised by healthy individuals.
I really am shocked that you would state fasting is dangerous and doctors do not approve of it. Which doctors are you referring to? and why? Like I mentioned to you earlier, have you checked out colon cleansing or even cleansing fasts on the internet yet? If not, please do so and we can discuss your findings afterwards.
I think we both can learn from each other. One more thing, how long has it been since you've stopped smoking? It can't be that long, you are the same age as my son. My daughter is 27. Neither have ever smoked...thank God.
