Default Zellweger Offered Millions (by WW!) To Shed Pounds

Think Weight Watchers is getting scared?

http://www.zap2it.com/movies/news/s...--19300,00.html

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Actress Renee Zellweger, who packed on the pounds for her characterization of the zaftig Bridget Jones, has been offered a sizeable amount of money to shed the weight. According to industry reports, once shooting of "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" is wrapped, Zellweger, 34, could receive millions to return to her normal size.

The dieting service WeightWatchers is allegedly dangling an approximate $70,000-per-pound sponsorship deal in front of the actress if she loses 30 pounds after the movie, which has already netted the actress a reported $15 million.

Zellweger was nominated for the Oscar and the Golden Globe for her portrayal of everyone's favorite singleton in "Bridget Jones's Diary" in 2001. Last year, she won the Golden Globe for her supporting role in "Chicago."
"Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," which also stars Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, expects a Nov. 2004 release date.

Would be interesting to know what foods she employed to put ON that thirty pounds. Do you perhaps think that carbs, starch, sugar figured in the plan?

From http://www.palmbeachpost.com/accent...32c00b000c.html

What did it take for size 4 cutie Renee Zellweger to plump up again for the Bridget Jones sequel, The Edge of Reason?

Her daily diet (which took her to size 14 in three months) was recently posted on IVillage.com, the Web site for women. Prepare to drool.

Breakfast: Double cheeseburger, large portion of fries, full-fat vanilla milkshake and one large box of doughnuts with additional chocolate dip.

Lunch: Pizza, chips and peanut butter.

Dinner: Giant portion of spaghetti with meat sauce and butter-saturated potatoes.

Snacks: Sugary doughnuts, chocolate and potato chips.

Zellweger scotched the doughnut rumors by telling other media, "I've been eating lots of really fattening food. I read that I'd been eating doughnuts, but they're not really my thing."

The thing is in all these offers by weight watchers. I haven't see them say she has to use their program to lose the weight. So what kind of joke is that?

No, but I think the offer does include the idea that she'll act as a pitchwoman for WW, along with Fergie.

I heard on the radio a while back that supposedly she got sick of the donuts and switched to a bag of doritos a day and some full fat starbucks drink.

This is a definite attempt on WW's part to recruit back an Atkins celebrity. She is a highly publicized low carber. I'm not sure whether or not it's true, but that's the public perception. WW is desperate, indeed! Why don't they quit fighting it and just allow their customers to choose a plan that suits them?! One size doesn't fit all...

haven't really followed Renee's dietary utterances closely, but it seems to me that she seems disinclined to advocate one way or another... Even though her name appears in every celebrity-on-Atkins roundup you come across, Renee's responses on the subject in the few interviews I've seen are pretty darn vague... unless I missed something?

What the heck do they mean by normal size? Is a size 4 normal? Doubt it.

If I see an uncontestable size 12 for myself when I'm at goal, I'll be more than thrilled!

I believe I've read somewhere that she is an exercise nut. So whatever plan she chooses will not be representative because she will probably simply return to her former eating & exercise habits which will take most of the weight off.

>"...unless I missed something?"

I've noticed many articles posted here and elsewhere that say something like, "Atkins is a favorite of celebrities such as Geri Halliwell, Jennifer Aniston, Rene Zellweger, and Catherine Zeta-Jones." Again, I don't know if it's true or not, but the media tosses it around quite a bit.

Diet Secrets of the Stars

Hollywood's hottest stars weren't all born with perfect bodies nor are they immune to Ben & Jerry's binges -- but you'd never know it watching their svelte bods saunter down the red carpet. How do they manage to look so amazing? Some work out with personal trainers, some visit the plastic surgeon -- but all celebs watch what they eat. And because stars have sparked some of the most enduring diet trends, we're watching them! Here's the inside scoop on who's eating (and not eating) what.
Low-Carb
Cutting carbs is the biggest weight loss trend in Hollywood these days and the Zone is the low-carb "it" diet. Jennifer Aniston dropped 30 pounds on the high-protein plan and People Magazine reports that hubby Brad Pitt and Friends co-stars Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry have also given it a try.

The Zone's prescribed diet of 40 percent carbohydrates, 30 percent protein and 30 percent unsaturated fats works for Renee Zellweger, too, who slimmed down on the plan after gaining 20 pounds for her role in Bridget Jones's Diary. The diet has also attracted sleek celeb followers like Madonna, Cindy Crawford, Winona Ryder, Demi Moore, Kristin Davis and Kirstie Alley, to name a few.

Another popular low-carb choice is the high-fat Atkins diet. The meat-and-cheese-heavy plan reportedly helped Catherine Zeta-Jones lose her post-pregnancy pudge.

What I like best about this article is that someone finally referred to Atkins as a "high-fat" diet rather than a "high-protein" diet.
