Default Who has lost 100 pounds or more?

I was just wondering who has lost 100 pounds or more and how long did it take to come off with this way of eating? Did you primarily stick with induction the whole time? Just wondering what kind of time frame i should be looking at to loosing my 130 pounds. thanks

Hi! It looks like you are well on your way to losing down to your goal. Congrats! Have you checked out the triple digits club located on the low-carb support groups sub-forum here? It is for people that have 100 or more pounds to lose and you might find some info there. Best of luck to you. You are doing great!

I have lost 110 lbs so far. I dont even remember how long it has taken but it has been at least 5 years. I have had stalls that have lasted over a year, but during that time my blood sugar has been good and I have felt so much better than I did at a higher weight. I have picked up the pace of weight loss lately. I am very resistant to loosing and have to be on induction levels to loose. But the good news is I like the diet on induction levels. I dont know how old you are, but I am 47 and my skin seems ok so far, but a little saggy around the bottom of my stomach. I will decide if I want to do something about it after I hit my goal weight. Good luck to you and if you stick with the plan you will make it to your goal. Each 10 pounds I have lost has made a tremendous difference.

I have lost 90lbs and 5 sizes so far in 9 months, yes that only averages out to 10lbs a month. I have 50lbs more to go and for me, the last 50lbs is a whole lot harder than the first 50lbs. Everyone is different. At first I gave myself a year, but now I'm thinking who cares how long it takes as long as I dont put it back on. It took me 22 years to put it on, so whats a couple of years to get it off?? Just my opinion, but if I were you, I'd plan on 2 years, and if you get there sooner...GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Welcome Jambo! As suggested earlier in this thread I would suggest you take a look over at the Triple Digit Club (TDC).

I have lost about 122lbs so far and it has taken me nearly 14 months. I stuck with induction for about 4-6 weeks. Even after induction I still kept me carb levels very low up until just about the 1 year mark. It was very rare that I would exceed 25 net carbs during that time. But I did allow myself a beer (Michelob Ultra) or glass of wine from time to time. I added more nuts as well as Low Carb Bread and some other treats.

It's took a while to put the weight on so it will take a while to take it off. Just be prepared to view this not as a diet or even a "way of eating", but instead as a way of life. Low carb isn't the diet that I am on, it's how I live now.

Good Luck!!

OG

Not quite 100...But, I've lost 95 pounds in 1 week shy of 11 months. Of course, unlike most of the folks here...I put the weight on very quickly. I gained 122 pounds (168-290) in 2 years and 3 months. I maintained a weight within 10 pounds of 290 for about 2 years. I started gaining again in 2002 and went from 298 to 320 by Early December, when I went on Atkins. So, basically...I gained 152 pounds in 3 years, a period that included AT LEAST 3 attempts at LF Dieting. Once you subtract the cumulative year I spent Low-Cal/LF Dieting during that 3 years...It totals out to 152 pounds in 2 years.

It took me a little over a year to hit the 100 lb. mark. Stayed near induction level carbs for the most part, between 15 and 30 g. per day. Started exercising after about 4 months, gradually stepped up the exercise in both frequency and intensity. I am a big proponent of exercise. Be patient, you'll get there in time. You will have bumps and periods of slow loss; try think of this as a way of life and not a finite race to see how fast you can lose all your weight.

I hit 100 pounds today. It took 172 days and a lot of time at the gym. I will have been doing induction for 6 months on November 28th. I still have 25 to go but I am very pleased with the results so far with Atkins.

It has taken me 6 months to lose 56lbs, I'm over half way now. However I expect it to take me a lot longer to lose the rest, but hey who cares, I've got to face the fact that this is the way I will eat for the rest of my life, unless I want to put the weight back on.
