Default What happens to you when you over-carb?

I've been *very* faithful for the last 4 weeks and we leave on vacation tomorrow; I have no urges for carbs right now but I realize I will be tempted to try some desserts (it's a cruise) in the next week. I'm close to my goal and fine with eating a bit more while on vacation.

HOWEVER, I've noticed that when I do eat additional carbs, my stomach/digestive system isn't very happy. Think of running to the bathroom unhappiness.

Is this normal?

What other symptoms might I watch for? My goal on the trip is to tell our servers up front that I want meat/veggies and then do bites of desserts or share or even sugar-free (from my cruise board; supposedly these are excellent).

Thanks

I find I have a lot of digestion pain when I eat carbs - particuarly bread. I also end up quite bloated - not a good look in the bikini on the cruise!!

I get a stomachache and I feel rotten. It also makes me sleepy. It really helps to remember that feeling!

I feel puffy and out of it. Then depending if I really went overboard, I feel ill for a day or two.

I get bloated, indigestion, and lethargic.
I think the loss of energy affects me the most.

Gas.

Foggy-headedness, thirst, a headache the next day.

Mind you, there are damage control options. If you end up indulging in the sweet stuff, drink lots of water, and find some way to work it off. This minimizes the "hangover". Just ask yourself whether or not you're prepared to feel like that on your vacation. There's nothing wrong with it if you decide it's worth it, but give it some thought. Sugar, IMHO, should be respected the way alcohol is.

Enjoy your vacation!
