Apparently Vancouver is getting a new low carb store - opening next Saturday (October 25) on Arbutus, between Broadway and 12th. A friend of mine was driving in the area and saw the sign - sorry I don't have a more precise address. I'll be checking it out next weekend.

It's great to finally see a store in Vancouver instead of the suburbs. Hopefully, with some competition prices will also start to come down.

I bet this is the downtown location of the Low Carb Center (N Van). I heard they were opening a downtown location!

Arbutus & Broadway is not downtown. It may actually be better than downtown because parking will be easier and that area caters to the older (Kerrisdale) and the younger (Kits) populations in higher income brackets. Great location. Does anyone know for sure if this is another "Low Carb Center" or if it's a different company?

This may be old news for some but...

I saw an ad this weekend in the local Richmond newspaper for a store in Tsawwassen called low carb solutions. They have a website at www.lowcarbsolutions.com.

They are advertising low carb bread made by a local baker.

The great news is that more and more stores are opening!

I just came back from visiting this new store. Here are the specifics:

They are located in Kitsilano - on Arbutus between 10th and 11th. Not a very big store - very friendly people.

They carry:
Atkins: bars, bake mixes, pancake and muffin mixes, syrups.
CarboLite: protein shakes and mixes, protein bars, bake mixes, candies.
CarbSense: pizza crust mix, brownie mixes, muffin mixes, pancake mixes, tortilla chips, hot cereals.
Low Carb Baker: Fresh breads and muffins, granola.
Vitamins of all sorts.

I was hoping to find ketchup, but they didn't have it in - should be getting some in 2 weeks.

As I expected, the prices are steep - I'm just happy to be able to find some of these products for a bit of a change of pace.

Just to let you know the Unique Nutrition Health Centre at City Square Mall (12th/Cambie) has Atkin's ketchup, I was there today. They also have a sale on some Atkin's stuff till Nov. 19th.

Thanks for the information BC_Gal! I didn't even know there was a LC store there. I'll have to go check it out this weekend.

Just wanted to say that I stopped by the new store on Arbutus and they had a good selection (including bread!) and I spoke with the owner who was very nice. She let me sample a bunch of different items, and was really open to bringing in new products if someone has a request. Prices are comparable with other LC products up here in Canada, and it looks like she'll keep adding products... so I'll be going back often to check in

She is also getting in tortillas (yay!) that I am eagerly awaiting.

The location they're looking at is on Burrard St., around where the IGA is.
