Question Sweet Munchie Cheese

Has anybody ever heard of this kind of cheese? I had a piece at a friends house. She's also doing Atkins...she's one of my buddies.

We started wondering about the ingredients in this type of cheese. I had never heard of it before today. To me, it tasted kind of like cheesecake. (yum).

I've tried searching around on the internet, but haven't had any luck. My friend asked in the grocery store, but they couldn't find the label at that time. The store was really busy.

Since I'm addicted to cheese, I don't want to wreck anything by having a cheese that contains sugar or anything else that would make it high carb.

Thanx for any help.

I don't know, I have never heard of it. If it tastes sweet, what could they sweeten it with other than sugar, especially if its not labled diet cheese? I would be careful with it. I will keep my eyes open and see if I can learn more about it.

I knew someone that used to eat munchee chesse all the time. I have never tasted it, so dont know for certain, but I did a quick search for you.

www.wegmans.com/pdf/nutrition/cheese.pdf

It lists here as sweet and mild and 0carbs so I would say count it as 1g carb per oz. Also better be safe than sorry, look on the package itself.

good luck,

MJ

Default I used to eat this all the time...

While I was growing up, my sister worked in a deli and would bring home munchie cheese all the time. It is really good. Boy does that bring back memories. I'll have to see if my deli has it.

When I need something sweet- I soften an oz or two of cream cheese, add a packet of splenda and mix in unsweeted cocoa powder. Its good!

I am so upset! I went to the grocery store today. The deli was quiet, so I was able to talk to the deli guy. He got me a new package of the Sweet Munchee cheese so I could see the nutritional info and ingredients. Ugh! It has SUGAR in it!!!! It also has 2 carbs per serving.

But I couldn't help myself. I bought 1/2 pound anyway and had it in a sandwich with low carb bread. It was yum. I guess this will be something that I have during maintenance...if I ever get there.

I guess I would have put it back and made the cheesecake from the recipe forum. I still make it even though on CAD, I could HAVE the real stuff..lol.
