Thanks everyone for the good wishes about the kitty. He is gonna be ok. The vet called yesterday and said the insides were ok. He has a few broke ribs and a broke leg but he is gonna be ok, it will just take a while to heal. We go pick him up today. Dog warden still hasnt come and got the dog. Guess I will have to call again today.

DH messed me up big time on myeating yesterday. We were supposed to take DD toa party after he got home and he calls from work and tells me to takeher and he will meet somewhere to go on to the horse auction. I was cooking supper and had to turn it all off, I didnt get to eat. I hadnt eaten since 1 and it was 5. So I went on and met him, went to the auction and then came back to pick up DD around 9 and ate at the party. I only had a hot dog weiner and some chili but when I got home I had to eat a snack because Ihad got sohungry. So to make a long story short, I went over the 20 carb allowable. I was so glad tho that I didnt give in and grab something at the horse show that I wasnt allowed to have.

I cant wait til monday. I am hopefully gonna post a loss for the first time since the sept. challenge. Good luck to you all.

Unhappy Help!

Ladies I wonder if maybe someone could help me out. I went into a GNC store where I live; I saw an Atkins product that helps suppress your appetite. It's called "Dieters' Advantage". Has anyone used this product? I thought maybe I would buy it, I'm always so hungry. I've been going over my allowable Carbs everyday now for over a week.

Default What's your daily allowable carb count?

Out of curiosity, what is everyone's daily carb count? I noticed some of you mentioning under 20 carbs, but that's induction levels. I did induction for two weeks back in August, and that was it. According to Atkins, you're suppose to find your maximum allowable carbs that allows you to lose and not go over that amount, and, if you follow Atkins correctly, you will be eating healthy foods and healthy carbs by the time you learn to eat properly. With exercise, you will lose weight because you are no longer eating refined sugars, starches and refined carbs. Your body will process the healthy carbs more efficiently and effectively. That's how I understood how the Atkins diet works. Once you are through with induction, you should incorporate and eventually just be eating fresh meats, fresh vegetables a moderation of fresh fruits, only fats like mono and unsaturated, and no trans fats whatsover. Induction is only used again to possibly break a plateau, but not for constant usage because you will just mess up your metabolism and make it even harder to lose weight. Plus, you won't learn how to eat healthy. That's my understanding. What's everyone's else's take on this matter?

Just wanted to peek in and say hi to everyone!

Heather, you are going to have an awesome time! I wish you the best! Enjoy Dominica. It is beautiful! We have been there.
We hosted two students, both living in Santo Domingo. Alexander's dad gave us info on your resort. I wish you the best, enjoying that lucsious Caribbean cuisine! Hopefully you can sneak off the resort into the nearby towns and see the real DR as well. It is sooo beautiful!

Heather don't feel bad for not posting to everyone. We all understand, and like Karen said it is getting harder to do that.

Stacy glad to hear your kitty is going to be ok. Strays seem to make the most awesome pets. He is fortunate to have found you.

We t.p.'d our friends' house in broad daylight on Friday. He wife came out holding their poodle. As the teens kept doing their duty, I said, 'It's ok if we do this isn't it?" She said, "Sure!" Well we got digital pics with her in our group, in front of our masterpiece. I fanagled the birthday girl's mom into coming along too. It was her first time of t.p.ing, and here she is in her 40's! Well we finished, started to drive away (they live at the bottom of a cul-de-sac hill, and HERE HE COMES! So the girls screamed and I just casually slipped the van into a neighbor's driveway, so he'd think we lived there. Well duh, he knows his neighbors! The girls slipped down in their seats. He blocked us in the driveway. He got a roll out of HIS truck, and away he went on our wet van! We have never laughed so hard in our lives! We got more pics with teach and our gang, as he wrapped them all in one big group tp bundle. He said he is going to get the kingpin, and you know who THAT is. Kept looking out my windows all night Friday night, and no TP. But he's not stupid. He'll wait until we don't expect it. This was such a fun memory, no harm done, lots of laughter, and what an awesome thought that a teacher is so beloved by former students, that they can come over and do that. He rolls with the punches.

Well that had nothing to do with LC'ing but wanted to share.
Off to church now for our 40 Days of Purpose--football game was yesterday but I was at the baby shower (she got SO much stuff---wish more 17 year old moms had the support she does)!
Oh I bought coconut oil and almond flour at TJ's yesterday. Has anyone used coconut oil? good for stir-fry I hope.
Hugs, Annie

Good morning friends. Just a quick post. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Just imagine the fun Heather is having on vacation. Annie is having problems trying to sign on. She hopes everyone has been blessed with their letter writing campaign.

I think this is the latest list. Please update and copy and past. Last week I gained 3 lbs. This week I lost 5 for a net loss of 2. I also have exercised for 15 days in a row. Denise, I think of you when its 10:00 and haven't done it yet and then get motivated. Thanks. Have a great day everyone. Blessings, Maureen

Maureen: You are so much like me. In the month of sept. I was up 10lbs. then down 13 and it went that way all month. I did end up posting a loss of 1.5 lbs. I think for the month.

I dont think I will be posting a loss this week. I was so excited because I had done real good all week and then my DH is off a day of work and I blew it. We ate at long john's yesterday.
break: egg sand. with one egg 2low carb bread and mayo

lunch: 3 piece chix meal at LJS

supper: 1 boiled egg, 1 slice turkey.

I drank so much water yesterday, trying to flush all I could out. But I had already done the damage. My weigh in is at 9:30 so I will post then.

Good luck to you all on your weigh ins.

Oh yeah, one more thing. My DH went walking with me, we left little boy with a neighbor and Im telling you, it was the best walk Ihave had in a long time. He is 6'2", I am 5'4" so you can imagine how fast I had to walk to keep up with him. I felt good afterwards tho. We only (I) made it about 1 1/2 miles. He could have went more but I was wore out.

I just about cried this morning. Little kitty had me worried because he hadnt gotten up and walked any since we brought him home. He was using bathroom on himself instead of using the litter box. Well this morning I go in to wake him to feed him. He sits right up as soon as I turn on the light,he eats and I put him in the litter box and he used it. He walked around some. I think he will finally get better now.

Alex, I try to keep my carb count between 20- 25 grams, since I have a LOT to lose, I find keeping my carbs way down helps me not have cravings and keeps my firmly in ketosis. As I understand my DANDR chapter 13 "are you ready for phase two?"), he says "if you have a lot of weight to lose or have difficulty losing weight, you might want to do induction for quite a while". Taking into consideration if you are getting bored, and/or are you "willing to slow down the pace of weight loss in exchange for more food choices?" "Induction lasts a minimum of fourteen days, but can be safely followed much longer."(key points end of chap 12) I am staying in the lower carb range but adding a few more choices to my food selection, i.e. nuts, seeds, berries, atkin bars + shakes... Does that help??

I am thrilled to report a two pound lose this week. no lose on bust(yeah already lost too much there) -1" on waist, and -1/2" on hips

cant tell if any inches are gone.
I completely forgot about the letter writing. i have been so busy with this cat thing and trying to get the dog warden here, and also DH tests tomorrow. I am sorry.

I had to take pants off to get 172.5 with them i was 173.5.

Alex: I try to stay within the 20 carb range. I have added low carb bread and tortillas. I just mostly eat what I know is allowable and watch the carb count. If I go over 20 a little I dont let it worry me. Well I do but not too much. I eat 3 meals a day on most days, a few I have had to have a snack but not many.

Congrats on the 2lb. loss Terry. Id take it in a minute. I was 171.5 the other day but only one day so I wont count that.

Hello all....

Happy to hear about the Kitty...
Congrats to all the "Loosers"....not sure what I am, was rushing out this AM so I didn't get to jump on the scale...will Tuesday....

Forgot to take my water to work today...bummer..I usually take my 64 oz bottle each day and try to drink it before I leave at 5:30 PM...

So right now I have been drinking diet sprite....will drink some decaf tea with some equal...

I had made a salad for lunch and left that too in the rush...I have been going to Kroger to make a salad for my lunch...

In Virginia there is also Farm Fresh that has a great salad bar to choose from...I need to buy a copy of the atkin book...which one is the best? I need to know what the allowables are....
because when I make a salad from these stores I choose:
Lettuce-romaine,iceberg
Spinach leaves, tomato, tuna salad, brocolli, califlower, shredded cheese, I sometimes get a bit of raisin (when I'm really hungry) bell pepper and sometimes bacon bits...
with low cal ranch and/or italian..

What of those are unallowed?--i'm thinking the raisin?

Estherm -- You should try to avoid Equal (aspartame) in all forms. Trust me -- it makes you stall!

Estherm -- it's me again! Buy the Atkins New Diet Revolution. It's a paperback and costs about $8 at most bookstores.

I would stay away from raisins, too. They have a high glycemic index and will send your blood sugar soaring. Also, don't worry about getting low-calorie dressings. "Low calorie" usually indicates that a lot of sugar has been added. The glory of Atkins is that you don't have to worry about calories -- just the carbs.

Congrats to everyone for sticking to the program. I am weighing in tomorrow morning and will report in. For some reason, it seems I'm retaining a lot of fluid.

Esther, you can find books cheaply at half.com. People sell their used items there. I get many items from them. Another, my favorite, is overstock.com. Type in what you want and it will have a rediculous price, including low shipping. Don't be worried about sweeteners. Personally I use splenda because it is made from sugar. But aspartame makes me retain fluid. Use what works best with your own metabolism. You're doing great Esther. Tell us how the phone call to Mom went!

letters, anyone?

Maureen, TerryLynne, Sheila, Alexs: CONGRATULATIONS!
