Question CARBOHYDRATE ADDICTS "CHEAT"

Has Anyone Used The Carbohydrate Addicts Method Of Cheating?
This Is Where You Eat All The Carbs You Want Within 1 Hour
And No Longer. They Said Your Insulin Levels Stay Regulated As
Long As You Stay Within 1 Hour And Don Not Go Over And Eat
Low/no Carbs Rest Of The Day. If So, What Were Your Results The
Next Day As Far As Weight? I Did This Today, Hope I Dont Regret It
Tomorrow!!

The Carb Addicts Diet is NOT a method of "cheating" that lets you binge for an hour!

This is a GROSS miuse and misrepresentation of the plan... The plan does include some foods "forbidden" on Atkins, but as a BALANCED meal, eaten under one hour, NOT a carb binge!

I know some people on CAD that can get away with overindulging in carbs, but that is the EXCEPTION, rather than the norm, by FAR. The Reward meal needs to be balanced to slow the absorbtion of the carbs, and minimize the impact of said carbs on your insulin response...

Hope this clears it up for you...

The cheat meal is typicaly started with a salad. Then you have to have a balance of carbs, protien, and fat, not just load up on carbs. While you can have a dessert with this meal, it has to be eaten within the hour time limit, and they do caution moderation. It is not to stuff yourself either, they caution the same self control that Atkins does about not overeating.

Hi aalley,

The other important principle of CAD/CALP is that the other meals (known as complementary or "craving reducing" meals) are very strictly low carb, with more restrictions than you have on Atkins.

CAD is about much more than just eating what you like for 1 hour at night.

Well, I Did Eat Carbs Yesterday (kept It Within 1 Hr.) Didnt Lose, But Did Manage Not
To Gain So I Am Happy About That, But I Dont
Plan On Doing It Often. The Rest Of My Meals
Were Very Low Carb.

aalley:

All low carb lifestyles are fairly strict because they have been tested again and again to work best that way.

I would suggest that if you "experiment" with your "plan" too much that you will be unlikely to find success.

Stick with something, and it will work.
Mix and match, and you may get a combination that is worse -- possibly even unhealthy.

Especially since you identify yourself as being in Atkins Induction -- the entire point of induction is to do something strict so that you are proven that this WOE works for weight loss. If you're bored with Induction, rather than go "off-plan", I would suggest moving into OWL.

While on Atkins, I have unplanningly eaten a higher amount of carbs during a short period of time (about 1 hour) and the only thing it did was cause me (later on or next day) bloat, sometimes gassyness and upset stomach. Needless to say my weight loss slowed down a bit.
