Question stalling and la tortilla

Has anyone ever stalled while eating the low carb la tortillas? I just bought two packs and want to make sure that i will continue losing weight while eating them.

I usually eat one every day or every other day for the past six months without problems. Of course this may be one those YMMV things. It has saved me on several occasions!!!

I had exactly the same reaction when I first tried them...

...I feared they would stall me. But they did not. In fact, they became a great addition to my food choices--they are so versatile!

Enjoy 'em!

I eat them alot and have no problems. Remember while they are low carb they still fall under the grains catagory. They aren't for induction and you should always make sure to have protien with them to regulate blood sugar impact.

Tomarrow night is steak fajitas using them if I can remember to get the marinade going tonight.

I eat 1 a day .... and they dont seem to be causing me any grief .... but my weight loss is slowing dramatically ... so they may have to be one of the things I re-assess.

The good news is that they have a lot of fiber in them - rather than sugar alcohols - which makes me happy when counting out my net carbs....

But I would also suggest staying away from them during induction.

The only problem I had was when using the small ones. I seem to always eat more then one of those. At three carbs each it can add up. Using the larger five carb ones worked a bit better for me because one is always plenty.

I just got my three packages in the mail yesterday, and I'm so excited about them I can't stand it!

First thing I'm going to do, we have this great roll-up sandwich shop called Roly-Poly's down the street, and they make FABULOUS sandwiches. Problem has been, the tortillas they use (like all non-lc tortillas) have TONS of carbs - but the fillings are all OK. So, I am going to take my lc tortilla down there and get them to make me my favorite roll-up - and it will be LEGAL!

LC life is good!

I love the tortilla's ... but I don't like the mushyness of them, so I toast them and make sandwiches out of them! They are fantastic that way. Wenzday, if you can't find them locally, try online... alot of places have them and will ship free in the US. I'm starting to order off line these days, I seem to get more variety that way and some places have pretty cheap shipping to Canada...
Anyway... Good luck!

Hey Maggie, Roly Poly is just down the street from me, too! Wonder if we're going to the same one. What a great idea about taking your own lc tortilla. I will have to try that! It's just nice to have a sandwich/wrap every once in a while...

Default Update on Roly Poly

Well guys, I marched my LC'ing self down to Roly Poly's and presented my lc tortilla and asked them to make me a Hickory Cristo roll-up (turkey, brie, swiss, spinach, mushrooms and tomato grilled golden brown - did I say YUM!?). After a bit of a funny look, they made it for me, and even charged me less for bringing my own wrap.

OMG was it good!

I'm thinking of taking the empty package of tortillas down there when I finish and see if maybe they might consider ordering them. Considering that they could market them as low-carb, low-fat, high fiber, or non-dairy, I think they might consider it...especially if they could charge a bit more for them. I'd pay the extra if they did!

HilaryM - I went to the store downtown. If you're in the area, you can help me bug them to get the LC tortillas!

That would be cool if we could get them to start ordering la tortillas. Maggie, I go to the Roly Poly off 280 in Birmingham. Now if I could just get Subway to make low-carb sandwich rolls...
