Talking I am the Atkins Poster Child...

...At least according to my doctor

I just got back from my three-month check up and in addition to losing nearly 50 pounds since June 23, 2003...

My blood pressure has dropped from 154/90 to 130/88!

Needless to say, I was ecstatic about that! My doctor was very supportive of this WOE and asked if she could use me as an example (no names, of course) for her other patients who came in claiming that they couldn't do anything to lose weight and just wanting a pill to make it all better. She was also thrilled to hear about the positive eating habits I've changed or created.

So, there are supportive doctors out there

Congrats!! That is all so wonderful!!! You've done amazing, obviously!!

I believe, that due to chemical make-ups, genetics ect, there is a diet out there for everyone-- This diet, just happens to be "just right" for people like us....

WOW Melissa. Your email and life are so encouraging. Keep up the great job and I wish you every success with your eating and making life-long changes.

Although everything seems to have gone well until now - don't get discouraged if tough, trying times come. Just remember "this too shall pass." Hopefully they will be few and far between for you!

Excellent! Celebrate your success! (not with carbs of course) Do something nice for you, some of your favorite things. A massage, a star gazing session, a walk in the woods or on the beach, a snuggle with your favorite animal, human or otherwise, view from a mountain top, watch a sunset, or a sunrise? You choose! or add your own.

CONGRATS! I so wish I had had insurance so I could have had a 'before' on my health!!! I have had high blood pressure for about 2-3 years now. I am not positive that I dont anymore but overall I sure feel better.

Thumbs up Fabulous!!!!

How wonderful you must feel about yourself! I'm sure your doctor will be singing your praises for months to come.

I live in Virginia and just got power back after the hurricane. No power for six days. No phone and yes, horror of horrors, no internet. But I can proudly say that both my husband and I remained true to this WOL (except we couldn't drink the recommended amount of water since the water was unsafe for 4 days.)
