Default Help!! I am sick...

So, I have come down with this lovely flu or cold. I haven't decided yet what it is. But is there anything that I can take that isn't high in carbs? or sweetened with all of that bad stuff. I am still trying to stay at 20 carbs a day.

Thanks in advance!!

The best suggestion I have is a good chicken broth. Halls make a sugar free cough drop too

I have always made my own lemon drink. Boil water and put in mug. Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and a couple of asprins or tyenol, add splenda to sweeten. Mix and drink.

The non-syrup OTC remedies like sudaphed, Tylenol Cold, etc. don't have the sugar problem, so I use those, the sf cough drops if needed too. I've also developed a deep, meaningful relationship with my steam vaporizer...lol.

My favorite "pity food" (I just got over a cold given to me by an adorable baby who sneezed RIGHT in my face....<sigh>) is a nice, eggy custard made with eggs, cream, Splenda and vanilla. I nuke it on half-power so it doesn't get "rubbery"...

Hang in there!

I hope you feel better soon.

If you have a cough, I think that the sugar free Robitussin actually tastes better than the stuff with sugar in it -- not quite as sickly sweet. Aside from that, tea and chicken soup are always good.

Thanks for the advise guys. I have been drinking tea all morning and now I am on to some chicken broth. I still feel terrible so I called Robitussin Line and the kind I had has 9.5 carbs per dose so that's out! I also called Alka-seltzer and their Cold plus cherry flavored in 0 in carbs but it does have some aspertame in it. I think I mignt just live...
