Default Outback Steak House

I'm going to the Outback for dinner tonight. Does anyone know what is the most Atkins friendly and possibly calorie/carb totals for a particular meal?

No idea of carb count but you cant go wrong with a steak. They also have a wonderfull rack of lamb. Its one of my place I like to go with a big group cause I can fit right in and no one even notices I am lowcarbing. Instead of a tater I just ask for a double serving of veggies

Hi Fishie,

I love Outback, we go there at least once every two weeks. This is what I get..
I get the Filet, smoooothered in grilled onions and mushrooms. Then for my sides I get the the dinner salad with Ranch, *no crotons. Next side is the Veggies. They are lovely! On a skewer. Nice big hunks of veggies. I have never been out of Ketosis when I have eatten there... and I always also enjoy a glass of there woodbridge.
Delish!
Gosh its only 5:06 am and this is now sounding pretty darn good.

NoSunNoFun

woops one more thing... tell them EASY ON THE PEPPER! one thing they like to do there is dump a bottle of pepper on there steaks.

i go there probably once a week, i love it!! you can get any of the meats. steak, chicken, fish, lamb. just ask for veggies as a side and when you order your salad say no crutons. (and don't eat the bread)

i also sometimes get the mad max burger minus the bun and with veggies instead of fries, it is one of my favorite burgers around.

sorry, don't know the carb/calorie counts. i just use fitday and plug it all in (then add a couple extra for the spice they put on the meats and whatever they put on the veggies to make them taste so good)

p.s. i like the spices they put on their steaks

Kathy,
Can't go wrong at Outback...I Love IT! They have a grilled chicken breast called Alice Springs Chicken. It is topped with bacon, cheese, mushrooms and I believe onions and is out of this world good! Victoria's Filet is you like a very tender steak. Vegetables are WONDERFUL and so is the salad. Hope this helps.

I love OUTBACK, and dh and I are frequent visitors, especially since starting lc eating.

Of course steaks or prime rib are excellent choices, and choose the grilled veggies instead of starchy sides. I also love their ceasar salad, no croutons.

Another "fish of the day" special I love is the swordfish....well prepared and very yummy, with the grilled veggies on the side. A safe appetizer is the grilled garlic shrimp (stay away from those bloomin onions!).

I have always wanted to try the Alice Springs chicken, and now that I have an "endorsement" I think next time I might get that with veggies!

How will I ever choose? It's only 1:00 here, have 5 hours to wait. Taking my sister out for her 50th birthday so will be fun.

Last time I had a steak with mixed veggies(couldn't stand them) and grilled mushrooms(they were really good, tasted like bread odd!) I hate going there because I love their potato soup but surely can't have that.

Hope you have fun and a wonderful meal. Just for info though, I requested from Outback's main office the nutrition counts, carbs etc of their food and they refused to provide any of it. That really disappointed me since before LC it was one of my favs too.

I know it's to late to offer up my opinions but I went to theOutback about a week ago for a celebratory dinner. I had the snow crab with garlick butter didn't eat the bread and removed the croutons from the salad. I was completley out of ketosis the next day( its never happened before) and the only thing I had that day that I don't eat regularly was the outback meal.

I visited the Outback a few weeks ago when visiting my brother in sw Ontario. I also had the Alice Spring Chicken which was wonderful with the extra veggies instead of potatoes. I forgot to ask for no croutons on my salad, but just set them aside. I had to take a doggie bag home with half the chicken, it was so filling. For me, it was a place to go again.
