Default How many calories do you eat?

My weight loss has slowed to a crawl and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm eating too many calories. I use fit-day and although my carbs are averaging about 20-25 my calories have increased over the past month to averaging 1690, up from about 1560 last month. Could that do it?

Hi Fishie!
What is your percentage of fat and protein intake?
I think is best if you just paste a link in here of your fitday page so we can all study yur case and be able to help you out better.
I will come back to check your link. Take care.

I recently upped my calories and have been getting around 1600 a day. It's shocking to me, but it seems to help.

Befor eI was getting around 1300. I started to drop below that though, 1000-1200 and my weight loss completely stopped. I found I need more cals to lose and remain active.

I avg between 1800 & 2000cal per day with avg about 30g carbs a day and I have been losing a steady 2lbs per week. My activity level is moderate with added exercise at least a few times a week.

I eat between 2400 - 3000 calories for 4 days.
Then I eat 1400 - 1600 calories for the next 3 days.
During those last 3 days is when I always get my weight loss for the week, Average 3 lbs per week.
I just never let my body get use to being on a steady amount of calories.

This way of jogging my calories reminds me a man who fell off a 20 story building.
As he was falling by the open windows of the building. The people inside heard him say, So far so good....So far so good.

Interesting, Gimmpy. Maybe I should try that just to keep my body guessing lol. I think that might rev up my metabolism a bit. I'm currently eating around 1400 calories a day.

You may be on to something Gimmpy. When I think back during the summer and during the work week I was eating 1800-1900 calories but on weekends I was so busy that it was more like 1300-1400 and Monday mornings was when I would see a weight change. Shaking up your body is probably a good idea. thanks for the input.

I stagger my calories, mainly to keep my body "guessing". I don't obsess with exact numbers but I stay within the range of 1,300 to 1,700. If I know I'm going to have a real high calorie day or weekend, I'll compensate with a few lower calorie days before or after. My stats flucuate as well. Fat is usually 65-75%, 5-10% carbs and 20-30% protein.

Ditto on the calorie staggering. Some days I have 1400 some days 1800, I try like a dickens not to go over 2,000 but some days I just let myself go.

Hey Fishie48,
Re: adding a link to your fitday account. I think it would be something like this....
First you may have to make your Fitday account Public by clicking on the button on your Fitday homepage.
Then you would go to your ALCers Profile page and click on signature. Then you would click on the little image along the top edge with a picture of the planet with a chain link.
A window will pop up into which you put the title of the link. click O.K and then the window will allow you to put in the URL of your fitday page which you could do by, when you're at fitday copying the url out of the address button and then pasting it into the window on ALCers.
I may not have explained this clearly or accurately enough so you could check in the Technical Forum for more info..
Hope this helps!
