Unhappy To meat, or not to meat? and other issues...

Ok, So last Thursday was one month since I started! I guess I can report everything is going pretty well.....even though I weighed myself on 3 different scales, I guess starting from the first time I weighed before Atkins, I have lost 18 lbs! Do I feel 18 lbs lighter? Not really ;/ I dont have a tape measure so I did not measure, but going from my clothes, its kinda weird.......My jeans were kinda big to begin with, but they do kinda feel a little more looser, but my tighter jeans are still pretty tight.....I dunno I make myself nuts!
The passed 3 weeks or so, I swear the scale goes from 237.5 to 235.6........but I feel like I am not moving..........I drink diet soda every now and then, I have been sticking to very little cheese, eggs, veggie bacon and sausage, Veggies, and meat and chicken. No atkins bars on a reg basis, and I added some pumpkin seeds also...
I wanna get moving again!!!!!!

Anyways.....This brings me to this question......Sometimes eating bacon, and sausage, I feel so unhealthy with allthe nitrates and sodium and stuff, and I know thats not that great either..I can tolerate the morning star farms meatless bacon and sausge and they have realitivley similiar carb count...But its like the point of atkins is that you CAN eat bacon and sausage right? I dunno, but I was just wondering if this could maybe contribute to my stalling...I have that a few times a week but not every day.

I just kinda feel like im in a rut and I need a darn woosh!

Also, I few times a week I have been having some atkins toast/bagels..not everyday, but when I need a quick fix or something...Or a quick meal like grilled cheese.......Could that hurt me?

Well thats enough ranting for now! I hope in the next few weeks I have better news!

You are going to get a million different answers to these questions. Everybody is different, and react differently to the Atkins or other LC products. I actually used the sugar alcohols in sf candy to help me "whoosh". No problem there, hahaha. The only thing you might be missing are more veggies and fats. Make yourself a big salad with lots of good full fat dressing. Cut back on the cheese, and the "salty" meats. Those are probably making you retain water. And speaking of water, drink it, LOTS of it. Oh, and you are doing REALLY great. You are probably just getting a little antsy. Totally normal. You have lost a lot of weight! Let your body catch up. Take care!

Do what your body tells you to - if that grilled cheese sounds like just the ticket, have it! You know the rules, just use low carb bread and fit it into your daily carbs. As for the meat, I'm like you with the nitrates and even the high fat count troubles me, so I opt for the leanest meats I can find and limit my intake. For example, only two pieces of bacon in the morning if any, with three scrambled eggs.
Sounds to me like you're doing really good - just hang in there, that stubborn old weight will come off! you don't want to lose it too fast anyway, 'cos that's when it usually comes rolling back a heck of a lot faster than you lost it!! Good luck!
