Default fancy suger free candies

I was in a upscale mall the other day and I stopped by one of those gourmet (I know it's spelled wrong) candy stands because a sugar free sign caught my eye. Well i bought a single bear claw for 2.50, yes two dollars ad fifty cents for one peice of candy. as I bit itnto it it was pretty good, so I asked the guy what they used to sweeten it, he told me they used motolv or something like that, which is a carbohydrate derrivitive. I almost dropped the candy in horror! I wonder how much damage could I have done with the 2 bites I took. I'll have to tell you something though, it was damn good.

I'll bet it was good... doubt it did any damage to your diet. Just drink 2 gallons of water tommorow to say sorry to your body

It was probably malitol, a sugar alcohol. I went by one of the gormet chocolate places in the mall and asked what their sugar free candies used. The clerk stumbled over the word, coming out with something that sounded like moltol I asked if she ment malitol, "Oh yeah, that's it" I didn't end up getting any, just in case it upset my tummy on the hour long drive home
