Default Day 1!

Just thought I'd introduce myself as a new member. I'm starting Day 1 of Induction (going the Atkins route) although I'm not new to low-carb. I tried Atkins about 5 years ago and loved it - (after the first couple of days) - but fell off the wagon while travelling.

I'm looking forward to getting through the next few days because I know I'll find energy on the other side. Even though I lost weight the last time (and it's definitely one of my major goals for changing my eating habits/lifestyle) one of the things I'm looking most forward to is losing the cravings and the constant thoughts of food. That was what truly blew my mind last time ... for the first time in my life, I actually learned what it meant to "forget a meal"

I was glad to find this forum - it's always great to 'hear' a friendly voice!

Wynter

Hi Wynter! Happy to have you here with us! I too was amazed at the dissappering cravings. It's a wonderful way of life. Good luck on getting through the next few days...I know it's hard but as you already know, it's worth it!

Default Way To Go!!!

Hi Wynter:

Welcome to the boards and congratulations on making that all important first step! Based on the amount of weight you want to lose there is a group on here called the 100 pound club that has a lot of great people on it. Also, check out member Szar and page 15 or 16 of his journal for his before and after pics. He has lost 183 pounds so far and is truly an inspiration. Very nice young man too I might add.
Let me know if there is anyway I can help! mad

Talking

Thanks for all the great replies (and the speed!).

Since I'm finally doing this for me, and not because of or for anyone else, it feels right!

I'm sure that I'll figure out how to reply a bit more directly soon, but Wendy I'd love an Induction buddy! (How's today going for you by the way? )

Mad - thanks for the tips! I'm definitely looking for any and all help. I'll definitely check out the pages you suggested.

The journals are a great idea... now to see if I can get mine started...
