Default Vitamins and minerals

i have been checking my totals on fitday and it looks like i am getting between 125-600 % of my RDA recommended vitamins and minerals. should i be worried about having too much? thanks for all the help i have received here! i hope i can give back some as i go further!

Mrjoshua, no need to worry. The numbers given as RDA's are the minimum necessary, and in some cases are much too low. For instance, the recommendation for Vit C (60mg) is barely enough to ward off scurvy!

Default Watch the fat-solubles

A & D can cause problems if you get too much; they're fat-soluble and don't wash out with water. However, they're also pretty hard to get too much of in a normal diet, unless you live on liver. All the others are pretty much self-regulating.

I have noticed occasional TRACES of what I call "rebound" scurvy if I quit taking my normal level of C, and I'll BONK completely if I don't get the same amount of B that I'm used to. So I think it's better to keep it reasonably steady, whatever amount you're getting.

But I'm not a purist about it. Life happens, and sometimes I forget to take my vitamins, and I get through the day.
