Default Ok here is a dilema!

I weigh myself everyday in the mornings. The scale says 210 at around 8am and then in the evenings i magically gain 5 to 6 pounds. What is going on? is this normal. Any input would be appreciated.

Iceman, it's only magic if you don't eat or drink anything all day long Food has weight, and until you get rid of it it's going to register on the scale.

Put a 2 litre bottle of water on the scale and see what it weighs. 2 litres, btw, is the minimum amount we should be drinking when following a LC WOE.

The scale weighs everything - fat, muscle, organs, undigested food, water.

Hey Iceman, completely normal.
I usually am anywhere from 2.5-5lbs above my morning weight by the end of the day.

What amazes me is that I always weigh about 3 lbs. less in the morning than I do when I go to bed at night. I mean, where does 3 to 4 lbs. go in the 8 hours (max.) that I'm asleep. Sure there's the early morning urine, but no way is even close to 3 pounds. I assume a certain amount of water weight is exhaled as vapor, but that can't be more than a few ounces. So the rest must be metabolism, right? But if my body can burn off 3 lbs. when I'm ASLEEP, how come I don't burn off that much when I'm AWAKE and actually doing things? Whoever invented metabolism has some explaining to do.

This weirds me out too! I was afraid to ask, for fear of commital!

It has to go SOMEWHERE. Even if it was burned off..where can it GO if you haven't..um...GONE three pounds worth? Why can't it take 5 more lbs WITH it so it doesn't get lonely and come BACK???

My boyfriend is famous for saying "you know the only reason we need to sleep is to let our brains rest - it's been proven!" "No, dear, I need to go to sleep because I have 3 lbs I need to lose tonight"

If you get on the scales a few times a day you will notice that there are days you do weigh less at the end of the day - usually you've spent a lot of time in the bathroom and the next day you're in here posting about how the whooosh fairy visited you!

If anybody figures out where all those nighttime pounds are going, ask them to look for all the socks I've lost.... I figure that most unexplained disappearances are all part of the same deal.

Best time to weight yourself is first thing in the morning, stark naked.

I think you sweat those 3-4 lbs. You may be underestimating the amount of water which you can get rid of by sweating. Here is a simple experiment:

One day, before you go to bed, weigh yourself then take a long hot bath. Keep your body in the tub under hot water for at least an hour. Then wash your self up, drain the water out and stay in the tub until your body stops sweating. When you get out, weigh yourself again and see how much you have lost. I do that myself sometimes so I know you could easily lose 7 lbs.

You may say "I was sweating heavily during the bath but when I'm asleep, I don't see myself sweating". Yes, during sleep your sweat has been evaporating as it comes out since it was not too heavy. This is why you lost 3-4 lbs over 8 hours while in the bath you lost 7 lbs in one hour.

The outside surface of the body is very large. This is why an invisible amount of sweat ads up to a large amount of water.
