I've been on atkins since July 7th. I'm doing okay, 16 lbs loss so far but I'm having a problem with my hair, I am losing soooo much of it, I mean handfulls ????????

What can I do ?
I take 2 multi vitamins, 2 calcium pills, and 2 vitamin c's.

Hi Leenie - I'm going to post a link that might help. I don't know the answer to your question, but I have been doing lots of research on vitamins lately to try and supplement my nutrition. I did a search for you for "hair loss" and this is what it gave me:

It seems that losing weight causes some hair loss for the first months as the follicles shut down. But they do come back. at least you'll see that you're not alone in this.

hair loss also comes a few months after a time when you were not well nourished. So you could be losing hair from a low fat/low cal diet you tried back in March or April.

go to your dermatologist and get a prescription for propecia. After 3 months of taking it, your hair will stop receading and from 3-13 months you should regrow hair back. It's the best way to get your hair back.
