Default Why can't I eat nuts while on induction?

They barely have any carbs! Is there a reason I shouldn't eat them?

I causes stalls and cravings for some and increases your carbs which should be mostly veggies. This is the healthiest and most effective way to lose and get to ketosis.

The approx minimum of carbs daily is 20 a day. Then during OWL you watch how your body reacts to more carbs and which carbs help and hinder.

Why is it important for most of my carbs to come from veggies?

Natural vitamins and fiber.

Nuts are my downfall. I know they have very few carbs, but there's something about them that stal me, and set off cravings every time!
Best to stick with the basic induction foods at first. There's a reason it works as well as it does for most people.
Veggies are packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, etc, and are inportant for your health. You can add nuts in only 2 weeks, and if they don't stall you, or make you crave more carbs, then you can have them as part of your daily intake.
Good luck to you

Nuts will 'bind' you (make you constipated). Your body is going through enough changes during the first two weeks, so it's just easier to let you body get accustomed to your new eating habits.

I'm into my 3rd week here and nuts have not been a problem since we did get them as soon as the Induction part of over. We do measure the allowable amounts and try to have only one or two servings a day, examples: a serving of macdamins(sp?) nuts as a snack, and two tbsp of slivered almonds or sunflower seeds for our dinner salad.

Personally, I want to learn to exercise control over my intake. I do this now knowing that it will be key as I allow certain foods back into my life.

Stay focused!...congrats on the the 2lb loss!

It's also tough to eat nuts in the portions that are allowed. If you look at the portion size on the label, they are usually only a few ounces. I find that once I get started munching on nuts, I have a hard time stopping.
