Being type 2, one of the main problems probably is insulin resistance. It seems to make more sense to me to try to attack that first. Adding more insulin would increase the amount of free insulin already there, and I am concerned about lots more ineffective insulin in the blood, and what it would do, even if it got the bg's down some.
I don't know though how much insulin I am still making. It seems to me testing for the presence/absence of insulin should become a part of diabetes management.
