Default Goodbye to the last prescription!

When I started back in February, one of my goals for the first year was to try and back down from the number of prescription meds I've had to take. All of them were directly related to my weight and general unhealthy shape. By June I was able to trim both of my blood pressure meds, and stick to more natural supplements as a way to keep my BP under control. All that was left was a prescription for acid reflux, which has been a fairly constant problem for me for a long time.

The last couple of weeks, I had run out of it while on the road. When I returned home last week, the issues surrounding my father's hospitalization somewhat distracted me from taking the time to go have it refilled. Towards the middle of the week I had realized something. Except for the occasional flare-ups which always accompany being awake for too many hours, I hadn't needed it--even with my morning dose of hot sauce on my eggs. So instead of refilling the prescription, I bought the over-the-counter variety of the same drug (ranitidine), which is half the prescription strength, and figured I'd just take them as needed.

So far this week, I've had one.

Now for the next mini-goal: 50% to target.

Congrats, S_Hysmith! Getting off those meds is something you should be proud of, as well as getting healthier. Taking control, ya gotta love it!

Congratulations! What are you ever going to do with all that extra money you will now have because you don't have to buy medicine anymore?
