Unhappy Slightly depressed, discouraged need help

Well, I had been "bouncing" for about 7-8 weeks, then suddenly last Wed. I broke my lowest weight by 1/2 lb. to 153.5!!! And I even felt thinner!! Same results on Thurs. Friday I was 154 (up but still my old lowest weight) same with Sat.

Here's the problem....Sat. (TOM came to visit also!)
I went to a wedding reception then out to dinner...

about 8 oz. white grape punch
about 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" marble cake (w/whip cream frosting, thin)
1/3 c. cole slaw
1/2 chicken deep fried with a light coating
5 small fries
jello w/ rediwhip (this was ok)
here's the worst 16 oz. choco malt.

Sun I was 153!! A new low! The scales were definately moving in the right direction after sooo long!
Mon 154......
Tues. today 155.5

I am scared that I blew all the good work I have done! This is the FIRST time I have cheated since I started May 27!! I did not PLAN for this either!

I hate feeling this discouraged. But it took sooo long to get to 153, and now I fear I have lost it!

I love this site and know I can count on you.
I need some encouragement, and advise.....

How bad really was my "cheat"? I hate to think I will go up further.
Will this put my into another 7-8 week "bounce" with no real progress??

Thanks.

Default water?

I would guess from what I have read that you probably have gained water weight and within a few days to a week, if you are LC'ing, it should go away...

I could be incorrect, but based on my reading, that would be my guess...

The worst thing for me to do is weigh myself every day, cause there are to many variables to get a true picture. I only weigh once a week.

drink lots and lots and lots of water. consider going back to induction levels for a few days to get right back into ketosis.

climb back up on the wagon. let it be just a one-meal cheat, not a week-long binge.

You said that you didn't plan for this event. Time to come up with some coping strategies so you won't be caught unprepared next time, anytime.

and be kind to yourself. things like this are going to happen occasionally. It's not the end of the world! Keep going!

cheers,
RealityS

High sodium foods may causes water retention. Taking your messurements can be encouraging, because you can lose inches before it shows on the scale.

best wishes for success!
