Smile So glad I found this forum

I am almost thru Day 3 of induction, and don't seem to be succeeding
Did Atkins many years back with great success, but so far, no results... scales may show 1lb down, but not sure cause they aren't very accurate, and ketostix will not change... it wasn't like this last time...

I have been pretty strict, except I haven't managed to give up my coffee completely... drinking decaf, or 50/50. I prefer skim milk in my coffee, so for the first 2 days, I counted the milk as my carbs, and didn't eat much else other than meat, eggs & some cheese. Today I have gone to cream in my coffee, or black, and have had my 2 cups of salad...

I have severe heart disease, and am on lots of medications... but none that are mentioned in the book as likely to cause problems...

Please, can anyone suggest what I can do to get started... last time I lost 20 lbs in the first 3 weeks..... didn't expect to do that again, but did expect to see some results by now..

I have tried everything else, and simply kept on gaining... decided to try this again.... against my doctors recommendation... I have to make it work.... so any suggestions are very welcome.

So glad I found this place, looks like a wonderful support group.

Hi and welcome! It usually takes three days to get into ketosis and start burning fat. Personally, I never gave up coffee, although I usually will use cream instead of milk. I think the coffee rule is the one most commonly broken. Start a journal - it is an excellent tool. Looking forward to reading more posts from you.
