The short answer is "probably." Isomalt is a sugar alcohol, which can stall some people. They can also cause nasty tummy pain and "have a laxative effect." On the other hand, many people have no problem with them.

There's a very good article on sugar alcohols in "Low Carb Tips" on the orange bar at the top of the screen. Really though, it's going to be a matter of try for yourself.

All the best!

Roz

Default they stalled me

probably because I ate them by the hand full. Din't realise they could. They also gave me a very quick trip to the loo every few hours.
Also can give you a nucky taste in the mouth if too many eaten.
Saying that though once moderation was reached they are really a good treat!!!

rici chewi lollies, darralle chocolate bars and the dd lollies are all devine, and i can hardly tell they're low carb however if you eat these on an empty stomach be prepared for the worst pain you'll ever experience in your life. i ate 2 choc bars and half a packet of dd aswell as a packet of rici chewi lollies (i had an incredible urge for something sweet) and it felt like some one was stabing me continuously in the stomach! be careful with them

I've been buying the Ricci chews for my husband because they had the lowest carb count (less than 0.01g per lolly) and are sweetened with Splenda, but when I checked the ingredients they're full of isomalt, polydextrose and sorbitol. I've avoided buying other sf lollies because their carbs are so high but it seems that they're all filled with sugar alcohols only the Ricci Chews don't list them as part of the carb count. Is that a bit sneaky?
