Default What is your quick convenient low carb choice for INDUCTION???

Trying to get ideas for new foods without having to make recipes. What is quick for you guys to grab and go? Variety is what makes this diet happen and I have found just from talking to friends and such there are alot of things you forget about. For instance green onions rolled with cream cheese and ham!

I like smoked salmon slices with a bit of cream cheese rolled up in them. Nitrate free salami by itself of wrapped around a bit of cheese is good too. Bacon cooked ahead of time makes fora good crunchy snack.

Darn, I was gonna say meat and cream cheese!

Hard boiled eggs are good to keep around when you're running out the door in the morning. So are packets of cheese cubes. And don't knock microwaved bacon till you've tried it!

Cook enough chicken portions to last you several days, then you've always got a substantial snack on hand.

Make up 40-50 meatballs and keep em in the fridge! (Well...what did you expect from THE Italain!) LOL!

Chicken strips! Cook a bunch of em too! Grab one and dip it in mayo or other! YUM!

Steak Chunks pre-cooked: Again...Fill a bowl! Great for dipping also!

Tuna or chicken salad...wrapped in large lettuce leaf!

Chocolate cake: Oh yeah...that was before! Skip that one....

Best wishes;
Happy Jake

Lately Ive been buying marked down meats in the grocery store like whole chicken and having a cooking night, where i cook everything up and freeze in individual serving sizes....It makes for an easy meal...especially since I am such an on the go person...just grab and go...I need to find a good list of freezable veggies.

I've been on induction since June 1 and plan to remain on it until I'm much closer to my goal.

Our cooking night/day is Sunday. This is when dh grills (hamburger, chicken, turkey, pork chops, steak) and I make different salads (tuna, chicken, egg, cucumber). Doing this makes sticking w/ this WOE and WOL so much easier.

For the first time, we're actually eating real food!!

I usually bring to work and eat tuna or chicken salad over romaine lettuce for lunch. Occasionally, since it's loaded with calories, I will make the yummy creamy italian dressing in the DANDR book. Then, I eat one of the meats and an allowed veggie for dinner. If I want anything in between, which I don't do often, I will snack on a piece of swiss or cheddar cheese, or a taste or two of cucumber, tuna or chicken salad, or some lunch meat (roast beef, turkey breast).

Sort of repititious, but it works for me. I really like what I'm eating these days.

Default 2 of my favorites...

1. Microwave ready bacon. You did say quick & convenient, not quick, convenient & cheap, right? I buy the large size at Sam's Club & use it for a quick breakfast or snack, as well as for flavoring my 2nd favorite...

2. Popeye prewashed fresh spinach, wilted in butter with ready bacon crumbled on top.

Uh oh, now I'm hungry & have to leave for strength class! Well, it will be a treat for when I get home.
