I think that is awesome. Something very sweet and nurturing about being read to. My sister in law was a school teacher and has remarked many times how impressed she is that my daughters will sit still so long for a book. Shoot - they'd sit there all day and be read to! I've always loved to read - hoping to impart that to them.

I hate to admit I haven't read any Tolkien. I would like to read the Little House books after all this Harry Potter. I'm afraid they may pale in comparison but I read them as a young girl and loved them. We have read Willy Wonka and Charlotte's Web.

Oh, I think they'd probably love the Little House books! And maybe also the Anne of Green Gables books? (I still love those, too!) Danny also liked the Willy Wonka story, and other Roald Dahl stories, and who doesn't love Charlotte? Even *I* love her, and I have a spider phobia! LOL

I'm so happy to hear your little ones love to be read to -- I think it's the most important thing you can do for their educational success. Heck, most of what I know I learned by reading, for the joy of it, and not (sorry to say) because of school. That must be one more reason why we homeschool! <g>
