Cool I made it through goodie day at work

We were having goodie day today at my place of work. I have been dreading this, but I made it through. I went to the store last night, and decided to make an Atkins type relish tray. I decided there was no way that i was going to make something full of sugar, and not taste it, so I avoided the tempation.

I bought most things that I can have and like. There was green olives, black olives, colby-jack and pepper-jack cheese cubed, and then little sandwich bites of budding ham rolled up with cream cheese in the middle.
Just when i thought I was safe, I took my good low-carb snacks in, and had to deal with the temptation of all the junk-food. I have chewed a lot of s/f trident gum, and drank 3 bottles of water, but resisted the urge to take even one bite of that stuff

Lets just hope that whatever will-power I found today, I will be able to keep around for a while, as each day is sure to bring new temptations.

Annette

My coworkers are very generous with treats and are constantly bringing in stuff, of course no fresh vegatables or meats. But with this way of eating I am never tempted because I am not hungry and I know how dramatically the wrong foods can effect my metabloism. I bring in nuts to share.

Way to go. My work place is a sugar junkie's dream, but after a while you get used to not having any and don't even get tempted.

Nuts.. That would have been a good idea too. My co-worker brings in nuts sometimes, but she mixes m&m's in with them.... What a way to ruin a good snack.

Thanks for the suggestion for next time.

I hear ya! Just last week we had a company "breakfast" meeting. Imagine the spread of doughnuts, muffins, danishes, bagels and orange juice! Not a sausage in sight. I planned ahead and sat there munching my (slightly dry and heavy) blueberry CarboLite bar. Not the most fun, but it's so worth it in the end!

We are usually loaded down around here too! Doughnuts, pastries, cookies, pies, cakes and almost always pasta or sandwiches for lunch. Show me the meat!
