Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know if Renees dressings are allowed on the meat fast? Extreme Cheese is .4 carbs per TBLS.
Thank you,
Jess

it is my understanding that mayo is about the only thing you can have other than meat on the meat fast but I am not too sure.

No. The meat fast is just that. Meat, meat, meat and more meat. No eggs, no mayo, no cheese, no salad, no cream. You can use some oil or butter for cooking, and a little salt, pepper, onion or garlic powder for seasoning. That's it.

Water is the only permitted beverage. It may be bottled, mineral or carbonated.

Meat Fast Facts

hi Jess,

It's possible that other folks are doing a home-made version of a meat fast? Or have tweaked the "official" version to suit their tastes and what works for them.

However, the meat fast, or fat fast really isn't meant for somebody who's not actually in a stall situation. I don't think you're stalled, but I read your recent post where you're having a lot of trouble sticking with it, and the DQ binge ... and can't seem to get back down to Induction. But that's what you really need to do ... get down to serious Induction, by the book Hopping around to fasts and different gimmicks .. especially if they're very low in calories .. can actually do the reverse of what you're aiming for by slowing your metabolism right down. Induction will work as long as you work it. You can do it.

Hi Doreen,
*sigh* Yes, the last month I've changed jobs and now I am faced with more temptation at work and I've had some problems in my personal life. I am so ashamed of the way I've been eating lately and have packed the pounds back on. I was down to 117 at one point and have gone back up again...It's been hard lately...I wish I could get back the energy I had when in ketosis. Today will be the 3rd day back in induction for my and I just don't feel "anything" yet...I am wondering if it willl take a long time to undo all the carb binges I've done...AND THEY WERE MAJOR ONES....but thank you for the support and advice...I really appreciate it...and needed it.
Thank you,
Jess

hi Jess,

How about starting up a journal? Most folks find that to be THE best tool for keeping track and staying the course. It sounds to me like you've got it together and able to do this, you just need some friendly support Plus, having a permanent place to record what you're doing, eating, feeling ... and suggestions from others ... is a great tool, because it allows you to go back and see your progress. Sometimes when we just live from day to day amidst all the stress, it's hard to see how far we've come.

Here's the link to the R section of the Journals forums. Read the info-announcement at the top about how to start a low-carb journal, then away you go. Check out some other folks' journals to get ideas

Good luck to you

Forgot to add also ...

Are you exercising? Doesn't have to be elaborate or going to a gym at 6:00 a.m. Brisk walking is a terrific de-stressor (sp?), energy uplifter and will help with mental focus and heck, might help toward the weight loss goals too

Keep up the good work
