Firstly, < means less than, and > means greater than.
Technically, you need to count every 0.1 g, but I just use common sense. For example, if you are only having 1 teaspoon of Bonox, it's pretty safe to ignore ½ gram. But if you are going to be having, say, 5 teaspoons of Vegemite, that will be 4.5 carbs, and therefore worth counting. Don't stress too much about it. Just concentrate on getting in your meat 'n vegies and you'll be fine.
