So what if you're being vain? It's all about the vanity girlfriend!

Next time you have to meet these people, buy yourself a smashing new outfit that shows off the new figure you've worked so hard for, and flaunt it cause you've got it.

Even if no-one says anything, you'll feel great!

I'm with Cor - the increasing PC crud is likely the problem at a convention. I don't think we could make anymore more stressful than adding all this goofy PC stuff in the work place. Weren't the highly stressed postal workers enough evidence for people 10 years ago? sheesh!
Some people are shy.
Some people don't think to verbalize.
Some people are jerks.
Some people get around to saying something.
But I have to say that if I ever gave a compliment to someone about the weight they lost and they got *offended* that I had implied they were larger before, I would likely laugh due to their denial.

I used to job share with a lady and still meet her for lunch from time to time and not once in the last several months, over which I have lost 45 lbs., has she mentioned it. She said something about just having seen the doctor and getting yelled at because she has gained ten pounds. We got to talking and then I managed to bring up that I had lost quite a bit on Atkins. She kinda poopooed it and mentioned she had tried it but it didn't work for her and quickly changed the subject. NOW I know why she never said anything about my weight loss...lol.
