Just check the carbs. I.e., don't eat sausages that don't come in a package because those could be loaded with carbs. Sadly, this may eliminate many items at your local butchershop that you otherwise could be eating (unless you can get reliable information about what went into the sausages). Sorry.

Default Italian Sausages

I've personally been eating Mild italian sausages (I think the brandy is Johnnyville) since day one of my diet and I've lost 8 pounds since I started (7/3/03).

Per serving: Calories 290, Fat 25, Carbs 1, Protein 14

Perhaps that will help you. I'd stay away from regular sausages though.

ciao
armana

Hi Lynda

This has been a frequently asked question in the UK forum. Do a quick search and you will find some good answers there. Waitrose do a very low carb sausage and there are some more out there, but they are generally expensive.

hi just answered my own question went to my local
supermarket and picked up Debbie & andrews favourite harrogate pork and herb sausages! they only have 0.8 grams of carb per 100g and each sausage weighs 64grms so thats about 0.5 per sausage. The wern't to expensive only 1 pound 69p for 6 sausages

Jimmy Dean makes ones with 0 carbs, if I recall. I think Johnsonville brats are LC, too.

I have also found someother sausages in safeway that are quite low in carbs they are called Safeway The best 6 toulouse pork sausages, they have hints of smoked bacon garlic & redwine and they are 0.9g of carb per sausage and they are well tastey
