Default Just starting

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'll be starting Atkins on Sunday with my husband. I am 5'6", 150 pounds, and exercise regularly (run half marathons and compete in fitness competitions once per year, so do a lot of weight training).

I've always been 150 pounds, since I was 17. It just seems to be the weight that I settle in at. However, I do Fitness Competitions once per year, where I drop 20 pounds in a three month period by training 2-3 hours per day and eating a 1500 calorie, low fat low carb diet (lots of plain cans of tuna and egg whites). Anyhow, after the competitions, I am so starved that I overeat until I am right back where I started - 150 pounds.

I am going to try Atkins as a lifestyle change, not as a diet, to try to get to a life-long maintenance weight of 135 pounds.

Anyhow, that's my story!

Hi-

You sound kinda like me. I just started Atkins 10 days ago. I exercise 5-6 days a week between 1-2 hours. I tried eating a low fat diet to be "healthy". With this exercise, I'm with a average build. To lose weight, I limited my calories to 1500-1600. I'd be able to lose 5 lbs, but would be so hungry that could never contine with weight loss. I always regained the weight. I'm hoping to lower my body fat. It would be nice to only exercise 3-4 days a week without gaining weight. I hope the Atkins lifestyle can help me too.

Angie
