I'm a pb kind of person. Is it ok to add pb before adding fruit when you move on to O.W.L. or will it hinder results?? What kind of pb do ya'll eat? I found some Peter Pan Low Sodium no sugar added at the store. It has 5g of total carbs and 2g of fiber and 2g of sugar.......

Default Peanut butter in me

I eat regular peanut butter. I find that I don't even use a full serving of it which is 2 tblspns.( 7 grams ). I use 1 tblspn ( 3.5 grams ) or less and it is plenty for me.

Yes, I reply to all peanut butter posts, but it has become my favorite treat. I use Smuckers Natural it has peanuts and salt. It has to be refrigerated once opened. It has 7 carbs , 2 fiber 5 net carbs for 2 tbs.

I bought the peter pan brand and couldnt stomach it, it tasted horrible to me. I have been eating the regular peter pan. according to the carbs and things on the back there is not much difference. It just has the sugar and salt that the other doesnt. Some people say no to p/b but I say it is better than blowing it with some other sweet or candy especially when just one little tbsp will do you.

yea..i'm not too thrilled about the taste of the peter pan no sugar and low sodium one... I'm also a spoon in the jar person. I think i'll give myself pb every other day and see how things go.

I eat pb from the health food store. I must be weird, because I have lost more when I ate 1-2 tblsp. of pb a day.

I noticed a gained 5pounds from adding the pb....i think its mostly water weight. I'm back on induction again...when do you think its safe to add pb? does it matter if you add it before fruit? or are you suppoe to add the foods in the order in the Atkins book?

I am an official peanut butter fiend! I grind my own at whole foods. I have a tendancy to eat a ton at once (it is impressive to say the least) I keep eating it, and eating it, so I have had to severly stop, almost to the point where we can't have it in the house. This is actually the only food I have a tendancy to binge on, I never did this before this woe, but now watch out sf PB!!!

It really is best to add in the order Atkisn states. The reason for this is the glycemic index. Somethings turn to gluclose faster causing large spikes in insulin. Others take longer to process and release smaller amounts of an insulin response over a longer period of time.

Peanuts are a legume not a nut. You might try adding in almond butter or other nut butters instead to start. If it continues to be a trigger and you can't stop at just a little, you may have to set pb and other nut butters aside until you hit premaintanance or maintanance.

This woe causes me to crave things I never liked. These days I crave steamed cauliflower. I never liked cauliflower until now, I can't get enough. My kids think I've lost it.
