Unhappy Day 74 - bored, bored, bored

Lately my appetite has been less than it was early on in this WOL. I'm not sure what's going on. I know that I'm getting bored with food (like I ever thought that was going to happen in my lifetime) and I should try some new recipes....making sure I have a good variety. My meals have been later and later at night because I just don't feel hungry at suppertime. Last night I didn't eat until 9:30 and then went to bed at 11:30. Not sure what's going on with me.

I lost another pound last week and the scale here seems to be working a bit better but still got a little hung up on Saturday (that's 27.4 pounds in 10 weeks!). I can really notice that my gut is flattening out when I walk to and from work as I check myself out in window reflections, something I never used to do. I'm happy with the progress I'm making and am not about to give up this WOL for anyone or anything. Perhaps I'm finally letting go of some of my food obsession?

Any and all comments, suggestions and insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking a few moments to help me out!

Nicole

Default Eat when you're hungry

and not when you're not.

I'm having something similar with the food. At lunch, it was scary to eat my chicken and salad and think, "that's all there is?!? I'm going to be starving by dinner..." But I wasn't. Had two pieces of beef jerky around 6 pm, and then it struck me later that I could just have as easily skipped supper--wasn't really hungry. Eating out of habit.

And then I realized this is exactly what they talk about, with people losing appetite with ketosis.

I still need to do a lot of work on habit eating--find myself reaching for food when my job gets frustrating. Keep coming back. It's way easier when it's not blood-sugar driven.

Normal weight people don't eat much. It amazes me to watch them. Maybe one day I'll be one of them myself.

Hey Nicole. I've noticed this lack of hunger too. I LIKE it!

It amazes me sometimes when I'm working on something and I look up and realize that lunchtime has long since passed and somehow, I missed it.

Default I well the same

I am glad I am not the only one not feeling to interested in food. Sometimes I just don't eat, not hungry (hard to believe), but I think it
is a good thing.

Over the 4th of July everyone around me was pigging out and I just sat there with a bottle of water and I was happy. My friend said, sorry you can't have some of this, but I did not want the chips and candy they were eating, I was not even hungry.

This lifestyle change is great.

Susan
