Yes, I believe you can. BUT, just be aware of the sodium content. Some of them are sky high!

Also check the carbs, I've seen hotdogs/sausages with as much as 7gms of carbs per link. You eat just three of those a day and you're already over you induction limit (NOT including the other trace amounts of carbs you will eat, which DO add up quickly).

In general, you should try to avoid processed meets, especially those cured with sugars or nitrates, which is a known carcinogen. You should probably limit your hotdog consumption to one every couple days while on induction. Once you hit maintenance, you could probably have as many as a couple a day if you really so desire, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Just remember, the less often you eat something tasty, the more of a treat it is when you do.

Thanks all, I was a little bit worried. I will definitely cutdown to one every couple of days.

If you have a health food store where you live, start looking at thier stock. I found nitrate free chicken and turkey franks at my health food store, and they carry Atkins and KETO products. Sometimes if you speak with the owner or manager they will look into ordering special products for you if they know you are a regular customer.

The phone book lists 3 health food stores in Laramie. One of my first projects when we get down there is to check them out. I also found 3 in Ft. Collins that carry quorn products. Maybe if I'm lucky I can even find a butcher where I can get cheap meat that's not overly processed.

I only buy "Hebrew National" Jumbo Beef Franks. They are 350 kcals (300 from fat) each and only 1g of carbs per link. And they are sooooo good!

Hebrew nat. also makes Polish sausage but each link has 2g of carbs..

Nathan's or Hebrew national are only 1 carb each. They are higher in sodium so have extra water to help flush...

Where I live, I found hot dogs that have no carbs. They are cloverdale brand and they are so good! I like them just by themselves. My BF searched high and low in the meat department for hot dogs for me when I first started and I ate those for lunch almost every day for my first two weeks!

Be aware that most things that say 0 carbs only means up to .9 carbs per serving (the legal limit to post) like each oz of cheese, each TBS of cream, each artificial sweetner packet and probably those dogs.

Just my pain in the neck input but I would count as 1 to be on the safe side.

I have been eating them since I started but only Nathan's brand. Can't stand the others at all.

Thumbs up

We checked the ingredients before we bought the hot dogs and there was no sugar or sweetner in them.

I have tried Blue Grass brand hot dogs. They are all beef, and only 1 gram of carb. Very juicy and excellent tasting! I eat 3 and feel like I'm going to explode!
