Default Only 80 Calories for today.

Hi All;
Well...I have a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow...so today is CLEAN-OUT day! LOL!
I get Lime jello (chosen over the only other choice, lemon)...and water or diet soda.
I figure my calories will be about 80 today. No carbs.
I am trying to eat a diet SF jello brand gelatin right now...Lime...and this is the first I have had aspartame in ANYTHING...my God, it is YUCKY. TOO sweet and that AWFUL aftertaste too! I may end up with nothing but water afterall...untill after I get home from tha hospital tomorrow late day.
I could have made up a bunch of jello from scratch,...knox gelatin, flavoring etc...but I just can;t stomach that stuff at all.
I also get one cup of boullion later on...whoopie!!!!!!
Hey...maybe I will get a whoosh out of this!
Yep...a BIG one in the bathroom later-on! LOL!
Best to all;
Jake

Jake, good luck with your test tomorrow. Can't say I envy your menu today, but I have heard that the cleaning out process is far more unpleasant that the actual test. And yes, I bet you get a big Whoosh effect from this -- maybe that will make it worth it?

Well...I just threw out ALL the lime jello. Simply could NOT handle the taste of the aspartame after so long without it.
Looks like two cups of chicken bullion (cube in each) and that will make it a day! YUMMY!

I really don't mind, as food prep...eating...menu selection...is becomming a real pain in the arse anyway right now. Just not into it at all...the whole "eating" thing and decision making process etc....

Can't wait to see what I weigh this wednesday! Will be interesting.
Best to all;
Jake

Eat large amounts of Russle Stovers about an hour before you go in. I've found that doctors REALLY appreciate that. LOLOLOLOL.

Good luck with that, Jake. It doesn't sound plesant, but maybe you'll get a little bonus weight loss with that.

...and tell that doc to watch where he's putting that thumb!! hehe.

Yea the day before is a lot tougher than the colonoscopy day. You will definately lose weight. Later on today when you are forced to drink 4 liters of that liquid, you will definately lose something.

I wasnt on the Atkins diet when I had the colonoscopy and lost around 3 pounds.

Hi Jake,

Is this your first colonoscopy?? Does your doctor have you taking phospho-fleet or do you have to drink that awful 4 gallons of other stuff? I don't mean to get too personal, but I went through this just 3 weeks ago (I'm a bit younger than the "normal" screening age, but I have a history of colon cancer in my family). Granted, the "cleaning out" wasn't all THAT pleasant, but not nearly as bad as I anticipated. The procedure itself was a breeze. They gave me the most WONDERFUL drug cocktail -- I hear that I was awake for the whole thing, but I don't remember a thing. Oh YEAH! Then when I went to the recovery room they wouldn't let me go until I had "passed gas" -- the ONLY time in my life that someone actually WANTED to me fart.

My doctor let me have hard candies the day before -- can you pick up some sugar-free ones?? That might help make the day less painful. And you'll be surprised how good bullion (sp?) tastes on around 4 in the afternoon when your tummy is really empty.

Best of luck. We'll all be thinking of you...

Jeannie

Hey Happy Jake...

Here's a recipe I made just for you:
1 Cup chicken bouillion, low-sodium.
1/4 cup lemon-lime jello
1/4 cup Diet Soda

Blend. Drink. Net carbs: 0.

Now, don't you feel better drinking ONLY the chicken bouillion?

Jake I hope the test results are in your favor. Thank God for a country where good medical care is available and accessible! I sometimes take that for granted and see only my discomfort.

You doctor's motto: "We'll be with you at the end!"

Gee, thanks Youze-guys!
I am having the type of "cleanse" where at 3pm I take two dulcolax...followed by 1 reglan pill at 5pm...and at 6pm I have miralax mixed with crystal light lemonade...64 ounces. Then I drink 1 eight ounce cup every 10 minutes until it is consumed. The instruction sheet called for gatorade...so I called them and said "Hey, I'm on atkins...so NO gatorade for ME! They said I could use the crystal light premix which has splenda...so the world was A-OK! I had no intention of "cheating" even for a colonoscopy! LOL!

I suppose I will be drinking it all in the bathroom!
Annie -Pie: Love your "recipe", LOL!!!!!!!
T: I will email you a "report"!

This is not for routine screening purposes. Without getting too "personal"....have "other" issues....

anyway, thanks for the "colon-well-wishes"!
A Healthy Colon is a HAPPY colon!
Best wishes:
happy jake

All the best, Mammoth. It will be okay, promise! Well worth it to see if all is well. So what are you planning on eating afterwards as a reward meal, for being a medical 'good boy'?

If you think THAT'S a pain in the arse...just wait until tomorrow.
Sorry Jake, couldn't resist, actually it's not nearly as bad as most people imagine and one of the smartest things we can do for ourselves healthwise, good luck...Gerriz

Jake.....Best wishes and will mention you in my prayers tonight. I know what you mean about that after taste. I cannot tolerate it and have tried several times. I have been reading on the Whey Low. www.wheylow.com I know its controversial but have chatted with someone who uses it and has lost over 40% of their goal.....I miss my sugar and may consider this for just coffee. Decaf of course!

JeannieM...that was way too funny.

The wheylow granular has 4g of carbs for just 1 tsp. The other wheylow products fair about the same. That seems a little to high for me, esp when on induction you can only have a total of 20. I think I'll stick to my stevia and occasional splenda.
