Default atkins bars induction friendly? also.....

I bought a couple atkins bars at the store today, I ate one cookies and cream, now it said there was 22 carbs, but the package said 2net carbs* and that I should only count the 2 carbs because after subtractingfiber (11grams) and glycerin (9 grams)

Now is this right for me, or did I actially spend 22 carbs on this bar? If I did, I just went way over my allowed carbs for the day..

Also.... a few minutes after eating the cookies and cream bar my stomach felt uneasy and I ended up running to the bathroom and throwing it all up within 5 minutes... Has anyone had this happen to them?

I love the bars and have never gotten sick from them.

No, you did not eat 22 carbs. There are only 2 net effective carbs in the whole bar. Net carbs are the only carbs that actually effect your diet. So you really do only count 2 carbs for the whole bar.

The bars can cause some people to stall though, so be careful. They can also cause stomach problems in some people.

The shake mix states that it is only to be used as a suppliment not as a meal replacement, and I think the bars may too. They have low carbs, but not all the nutrician you need.

Malitol can have a laxative effect.

Depends on the bars you buy....Certain ones are actual snacks and others are for full nutrional meal supplements for when you are on the go. I was very curious on why certain bars were so much more expensive than the others...I know why now..The more expensive were the meal supplement bars...Chocolate Decadence is great..mmmm!

i've also eaten them in a pinch - atkins as well as think thin bars. there are times when i'm just not hungry or i can't eat any more meat so i eat a bar instead.
the think thin bars bother my stomach more ("the laxative effect") than the atkins which don't seem to cause any problems for me.

in 11 days i've probably had 2-3 meal type bars and 2 atkins endulge mint wafer bars (as a dessert) - those might have been an induction no no but they were rewards for particularly stressfull days!

better than snickers in a pinch, but if you are losing slowly I would say they should be one of the first things to go.

The think thin bars contain maltitol and the atkins bars don't. The maltitol is what gives the laxative effect and can cause stalls. They are good but I would rather eat the Atkins because they don't cause a stall.

and I would rather eat my toe nails than most of those Atkins bars. Peanut butter isn't too bad, but over all they are pretty nasty.
