Default vivid dreams? (just wondering)

Hi, I'm on Day 5 of induction. I have cut out caffeine- after the first day of headaches its gotten a lot better.

One thing I've noticed since I have begun Induction is that I have very vivid, detailed dreams when I sleep at night. I also remember them right away when I wake up. I dreamt before Induction, but would only remember random portions of dreams throughout the day...

Maybe its because I am getting into deeper sleep w/out caffeine (?). Whatever the case, its a cool side effect

Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks,
Heather

My dreams are very vivid and I always remember them - I still and always have drank coffee, so I think it's the carb cutting that's the culprit.

i rarely remembered my dreams before atkins. now they are vivid and im able to recall them almost every mornings! im guessing it is the increase in tryptophan from all of the meat i am eating now. i have had similar experience when i am taking the supplement 5htp which is tryptophan from a plant source.

I just started taking those supplements.. how long have you been taking them for Sim0ne? Do they work ?

As for vivid dreams I had one last week it was soo cool I was like super FBI chick and I was running away from this convict!! Wow I never figured that it was Atkins that did that I just thought that it was a random dream.

well i started using 5htp to help boost seratonin prduction after partaking in activities which depleted it [talk to you about that in IMs luna]- then i started researching it and found its been helpful for my fibromyalgia too - i think because it gets me into that deep restorative sleep that ive been lacking for 10yrs.
the problem is if i take the dosage i need it would cost $60 a month!
i definitely notice a difference in my dreams since eating more meat -

I have vivid dreams about trying desperately to find a bathroom...

That's what drinking 144 oz. of water everyday will get you!

I am weaning off one right now, and I can tell you FOR SURE that if you are taking less than your needed/normal dose that is SURELY responsible for the dreams. I have terrible nightmares that wake me up on the nights I did not take a pill.

I still drink the same amt of coffee, but my dreams in general have been much more vivid, and I always remember them (which is sometimes bad, as I have dumb dreams) Last night I had this weird dream about the Hilton sisters, specifially Paris and how we hated each other. Great, like I needed a dream to tell me Paris Hilton and I wouldn't get along in real life!

I've always had very vivid dreams and always remember them, but I have noticed I fall asleep faster, in a deeper sleep and I sure do rest better.
Oh yes and if I keep drinking water after 7pm I have that same bathroom dream GrlyGrl had.

Before I started Atkins I, maybe, remembered 10 dreams total ... throughout my whole life. Now ... almost every night I have a dream (odd as it may be) and I can remember it right when I wake up. I also have sleep apnea ... and since I started Atkins, I've been able to (almost) get a good nights sleep every night. When I wake up, if I do, I don't have to physically sit up or get out of bed ... the weight loss and habit changes have helped me SO much... and dreaming is pretty darn cool.

Wow! Where do you find the time! I admire that! I can't image how often you rush to the bathroom. I drink roughly 70 oz a day and I have become quite aquainted with the latrine.
