I've read that when you're dehydrated your thirst mechanism all but shuts down. When you get yourself rehydrated and start drinking enough water, your thirst mechanism kicks back in and basically keeps you on your toes, thirst-wise.

Before this WOE I'd been totally awful about drinking water and found that I was never thirsty. Since starting this and making sure I'm drinking what I should, I find I'm always thirst, too!

Anais -

The unquenchable thirst is also a sign of Diabetes. It is a VERY BIG symptom. I have PCOS and was diagnosed with Daibetes with very similar symptoms.

May want to make a Dr appt and be seen.

Actually, before you convince yourself that you have diabetes, I found that during induction (and when I was in ketosis) I was alot more thirsty. Extremely thirsty in fact, because my mouth was always dry. It is probably a sign that you are in ketosis.

Those symptoms can not be ignored either. If you have had a hard time losing weight and such, it is quite possible that you are insulin intolerant. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

I thought for years that I was just thirsty and found that I am diabetic.....I am not even 30 yet either.

Yes, I am on glucophage for PCOS and diabetes. Dr recently reduced dosage from 2000mg per day to 1000 mg per day. Hope next time it will be 0 mg per day.....

I have been tested and I am not diabetic. I have experienced the non ending thrist. There are times that I just can't drink enough. I would not be alarmed.

Since I started this WOE and drinking all this water, it has also made me thirstier. I wake up in the middle of the night and I am soooo thirsty, but I don't drink any because I am afraid it will increase my weight . So , I won't drink any until I weigh myself in the morning. I have been stuck for this past week after ending induction.... Cindy

Make sure to drink at night. Dehydration can slow down weight loss. Which is worse .5 pound of water, or .5 of retained fat?

I agree with LadyBelle -- I bring a huge cup of icewater to bed with me. It usually works its way out before I weigh in the morning anyway

Default wow..

look i go away for a few hours and look at all this help. yahoo....

i am not on any meds.... and i will check out the diabetes possibility... but i doubt that very much. i couldn't figure out how to tell if i was in ketosis... so if this is a sign..well so be it, but i haven't had to pee this much since i was 8 months pregnant!
i don't add salt to anything... never have, but lots of these foods have a ton... the bacon..the chicharones, etc.
birddog and jac... thanx for your input. i am glad to hear that others experience the same thing. i drink at least 100oz. of water a day.
