Unhappy I'm alittle stressed & need to vent...

I just completed induction & lost 15lbs!

So the fact that I had to take my 4 yr old daughter to 4 (count em-4) birthday parties in the last 2 weeks-all with snack food, soda & birthday cake has been a real challenge. I am proud to say though that I did not cheat-not once <patting myself on the back>
What's stressing me out however is that her birthday is in 3 weeks & obviously there will be birthday cake there-AND I CAN'T HAVE ANY!
Birthday Cake to me is like the one food I would choose to have with me if I was stranded on an island.

What Should I Do?
How can I motivate myself to just not care & feel deprived.
How sick is this that I'm stressing over this 3 weeks in advance <sigh>
Somehow my motto of "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" just does not apply here

By the Way...I'm Nicole & I'm so glad to have found such a supportive group as you all seem to be.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. There are plenty of lowcarb cheesecake recipes in the kitchen, I'm sure you can find something. I can't vouch for any because I haven't tried them, but they seem to be pretty popular. Congratulations on your 15lb loss. You're doing great!

Thumbs up Congratulations!

Good job sticking to your eating plan through all that temptation!

With 3 weeks notice, you could research and find a good lower carb cake recipe to make at your daughter's birthday party. You'll probably want to make the full sugar version for the kiddies, but why not create a real special treat for you, too? After all, her birth celebrates the woman who brought her into the world, too.

Good luck!
XOXO Monika

You could treat yourself by not eating the cake or stressing out over it!

The ideas of making something deliciously LC for yourself are excellent.

You've no doubt come to low carbing so you can live a healthier, longer and life and be able to tussle and keep up with your grandchildren when they come along.

What better reward could that be?

Karen

Talking Hi Nicole!

Congrats on your loss and being able to stick to your guns through all those parties. My SO has a very large family we have a birthday party or gathering almost every week.

I have not cheated since I have been back in the swing of things (4\2003). What I do is plan ahead ... it is not obcessing. I believe that good planning is half the battle in being successful in this WOE-WOL.

What I do for parties is make something for myself that is comparable to what is being served or an alltime favorite treat of mine. Many times the other guests are checking out what I am eating because it looks so good.

So, my dear, you have plenty of time to research and try out a few recipes before the big party.

Celebrate and have fun at the party. Please let us know how you did.

Thumbs up Thank You

Thank you for your responses! I think I will try to find a good LC dessert recipe just for me as a treat.

Now...If I could just stop obsessing over the darn scale

Nicole
