Default Cup of lettuce ?? please help

I'm on day 9 of induction so I'm very new at this...I think I'm eating too many vegetables and too much salad. How much is a cup of lettuce? 8 oz? In induction, you're allowed 2 -3 cups of veggies/lettuce daily and I'm not sure how to measure that properly

Any help is appreciated...Thanks!

A plain cup of lettuce itself has just short of 2 carbs in it, so don't worry.

Question

I thought in the carb counter booklet, it says lettuce is 0.2 carbs for 1/2 cup? Correct me if I'm wrong, I never thought it was just short of 2 carbs. Please correct one of us.

What kind of lettuce? There are some slight differences in carb counts depending on the type-but they are all LOW especially once you subtract the fiber.

I wouldn't concern myself with eating too much lettuce or veggies. I didn't gain 40 pounds because I ate too much salad.

According to fitday.com 1 cup of lettuce, raw has 1.15 g of carbs, and .77 fiber. I just always round up so the that is why I said less than 2. I guess once you minus the fiber there is really less than one.

Default Lettuce, or vegetables?

My ROT is that just about any leaves or stems are going to be OK, in just about any quantity I can stomach, and I need to look out for the real storage parts of a plant--fruits and tubers. Where is the plant saving up for the next generation? Plants don't invest very heavily in leaves.

there was a discussion a while back about bamboo shoots, but they don't carry them in the local Food Lion and I'm not too worried.

As noted above, it wasn't the lettuce that got me here. However, my all-time biggest problem binge food WAS apples. I have noticed I do ok if I keep the salads to the leaves-and-stems parts.
