Default taste changes

has anyones taste buds changed since doing the LC? i used to drink sprite, sierra mist or 7-up. I went on the LC for 2 days and tried to drink one and it tasted horrible. I didnt even drink half of a small one at Hardys. I had only drank water for the first 2 days so after that bad taste, I am back on the water again. I do have the ketosis taste in my mouth and was wondering if that may cause the difference. this is the only difference that i have noticed so far.

My tastes have changed. Everything seems "sweeter" to me and carb foods seem bland.

Definately!!! After about six weeks (I think), I had a slice of pizza (my all time favorite food) and it wasn't nearly as good. I've had a bite or two of regular food since I started Atkins and none of them were anything to rave over. I guess that's a good thing so I won't be tempted...lol.

I can notice just the smallest bit of sugar now in even veggies! Most definitely changes your tastes.

Default Funny taste

My wife, who is with me at the end of the first week of induction, also complains of a funny taste in her mouth. She once took Coricidin D for a couple of weeks (for a cold) and remembers it as a time of rapid weight loss...and that same odd taste.

So if you no longer like some of your favorites, are there other tastes now that you like?

Pete

I much prefer really dark chocolate now. I can hardly stand those malitol chocolates because they are so sickeningly sweet.

Other high carb stuff is just really not as appealing anymore. Unfortunately, ice cream still tastes fabulous (full fat, homemade, of course!)

Exclamation Just call me Popeye

I never in a million years thought I would love cooked spinach. Of course, maybe that's because the only time I remember having it was in the school cafeteria! Now my favorite treat is to get it on sale & wilt it in my frying pan after sauteing meats or mushrooms.

Now if I ever eat a pork rind, the world will surely be coming to an end.

I found pickles sweetened with Slenda....wow...too sweet!

I also used to drink alot of diet soda...can't now...too sweet!

I am on day 7 of Induction...month from now I probobly will not be able to even use the Splenda

I made the jello today...using Knox unsweetened gelatin...Splenda...and unsweetened Kool-Aid...trying it tonight as my snack. Bet it is going to be too SWEET!!!!!

I drink water. Water...Water..>Water and more Water.

Best to all;
Jake

Mammoth-It will be-I made some last week

I used to drink lots of regular pop and even some diet before LCing, now I have switched to either water or Diet Rite. Last week I tried a diet Sunkist and it was sooooo sweet.

Also I have been eating lots of hot sauce on my meat and chicken and I used to not like spicey things

Yep...Jello Problem. I mixed 2 packets Knox with one packet Koolaid (as I mentioned above)...and 8 packets Splenda, 1 cup hot and 1 cup cold water...
This is how the recipe was written HERE...exactly.

Just went to the fridge for my late night snack...grabbed my spoon...and first thing I noticed was that this gelatin was too STIFF...Like a rock. My darn spoon bounced back at me! Scared the heck out of me!!!

My guess is that it should have been TWO cups hot and TWO cups cold water.

Next, of course, as I tried to chew this disgusting mess...TOO SWEET for me. YUCK.

Will make a new batch tomorrow...double the water...cut the splenda...and see if I can eat it...

Should be another adventure! LOL!

Best to all;
Jake
