Question Poll - Atkins Induction - How many days until loosing the carb withdrawl symtoms?

Hi Everyone-
I thought this would be a good idea for those having difficulty with the headaches, lack of energy, and other withdrawl symtoms to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

You might also want a category for people who had no withdrawal symptoms.

My husband just started and he had none...bah!

Day 3 and 5 were the worst days for me. Headaches, cravings, general crappy feeling. The whole works.

The rest has been heaven.

Today is day 7 for me...yesterday BAD headache and feeling yucky.....Today is the first day I have felt good...relaxed...more energy...etc. So I voted that way.

I still crave carbs...but it is in my mind, and not my body. My mind is thinking about certain foods that I shall not mention, foods I miss....but won't mention them so as not to get someone else thinking of them

But again...it is "mental". I feel generally "good" today...and not so hungry.

Good Thread! Thanks!
Best to all;
Jake

Had to vote Day 3, as there was no selection for "None".

Course, I felt so bad in general all the time, I could have been sickly and not known it.

I think around day 6. My withdrawal was pretty bad...headaches, heavyhead, foggy, sometimes lightheaded.

For those starting keep a journal from the beginning. I wish I had written down how I felt physically each day. It would be nice to read back on that part.

Peace
red

Unhappy withdrawl

Oh yes, withdrawl. *shudder* Scary time for me. I started Atkins on a Saturday, which btw, was a bad idea, & on Tuesday I was in withdrawl. It started with a headache, then I was shaky, had difficulty climbing stairs, was quite unsteady & spacy, could not get my balance all day, & was very jittery. It was like all my senses were working overtime. I read in the book I had all the symptoms! This was the only day I ever felt like that in my life. This only lasted one day. By the end of the week, I was back to my normal self. The sugar was out of my system I found the cravings did not come during my Induction, but they did come later! Once I got just a small taste of something with sugar, that was it! Gimme more! Now my bf who started at the same time as me did not suffer withdrawl. He was one of fortunates who was not addicted to sugar, so he did not have to overcome that.

It does get better!

Default Just like having a baby...

after it's over you can barely remember the really painful part!
I actually had to go back in my journal to answer this poll & I started only 10 weeks ago. According to my notes, the worst day was Day 2, so by Day 3 I had pretty much detoxified my body after toxifying it for over 30 years! Pretty amazing stuff.

I, like MocaGyrl, had my worst cravins after Induction when I was moving things back in.

I didn't have withdrawals symptpoms until after induction. I ate a half slice of bread, which helped and I did not want another slice.

Guess I'm one of the Lucky ones, I never had any withdrawal symptpoms that so many have. I just noticed around day 4 or 5 that I could walk by anything in the store and not even be tempted by it.

I've added a "no symptoms" option so those lucky people can vote too.

My headaches starts (I've done Induction a couple of times ) by around the end of day 2 and has gone by day 4 to 5. Not many days out of one's life really.

By late Day 3 I lost my PHYSICAL craving for carbs...you know, the compulsion. From time to time I have the psychological desire for carbs though. I'm hoping those will go away permanently.
By day 4, things got easier for me. Sure hope it stays that way!
