She should read Dr. Atkin's book(s) and become familiar with the science behind the woe. Then when she is comfortable with knowing the basic how and why, she should sit down and discuss this with her hubby. His concern is most likely over her health, so by being able to explain how this woe will actually improve her health may help. Many friends, as well as my boyfriend, did not approve of my decision in the beginning. Now 15 months later they see that I am doing well, and my boyfriend even joined me and lost 20 pounds.

Default are you kidding?

This is a joke - right? Please don't tell me there is a woman out there who lets her husband (or anyone else) tell her what she can eat. Maybe she is just "hiding" behind his authority to avoid doing what she needs to do.

I agree with Cindylyn

It would be very hard to hide from a spouse.

I suggest she tries to convince hubby that it is a good way of eating.

Otherwise she could do a more liberal plan than Atkins ( such as Zone, or Swarzbein), and actually subtley change the nature of the eating for the whole household.

She could also achieve quite a bit by cutting out stuff such as sugar based products and reduce bread, rice etc without being too obvious.
