Smile Anyone eating nuts???

I love nuts, so I'm wondering if they are ok to eat? I was looking at a package of peanuts and the carb count is 9, with the fiber count being 5. That sounds good to me

after induction yes.

watchout though, they are really addictive! I don't buy them anymore because I eat far more than the serving. They stall people, but mostly due to the addictive, yummy properties!!!!

Default nUTS

If you're on induction... you should stay away from them for now.

Other nuts are better than peanuts (remember peanuts aren't nuts... they're legumes). Macadamias and pecans are quite low in carbs.

Nuts are the best part of maintenance. Yummy to snack on, and satisfy my salty cravings!

What phase of the Atkins program are you on? Nuts are one of the first things I added when starting OWL. The trick is to keep portions in control!

The best are macadamia nuts due to their low carb and high fat content.

Yes, eat nuts, but keep it in moderation. A 1oz serving of nuts is actually quite small. I force myself to stick to individual serving bags or I get in trouble.

Macadamia, almonds, walnuts, and pecan all are about 1g. carb per oz. I sometimes grab a handful for a snack or with a salad for lunch. Great source of good fat & some protein!

I just wish those macadamia nuts weren't so doggone expensive!

Talking Nuts!

Nuts were responsible for a major stall in induction. Now even in maintenance I only buy the $0.99 or $1.19 type packets of nuts. I do not buy the Wall mart Special big can and take it home. I ca not stop eating them

Unsalted walnuts are something that I love in a salad, but won't eat by the handful as a snack. They are great in salads, especially at lunch, and I'm sure they help keep me full between meals. I think they've kept me from eating too many calories b/c they are nice and filling.

I sometimes add a spoonful or two of sunflower seeds to a salad. If I buy the jar, I eat way too many. I was very wary of eating peanuts (the whole legume thing), but when I have nothing to eat at a "snacky" time, and have forgotten to bring something to work from home, it's the safest thing in the snack machine! Now if only they would start putting pork rinds in there! I should find some walnuts or the like to bring to work. I used to love those as a kid.

What does everyone think of cashews as far as how many to have, are they better/worse than peanuts, etc. I don't know if cashews are legumes or not.

Default Whose nuts?

I prefer- Walnuts, macadamia and sunflower.

I don't get the macadamia very often. I do buy the big bag of walnuts from Sams and share with my BIL cause he is doing LC too. We pack them in ziplocs and take them to work. I DARE the two-legged squirrels in my house to touch them! They are mine! If they want some they can have a smidge and only if I say. If I didn't they would have the whole bag gone!

I didn't touch a nut though when doing induction. (At least not the edible type).

No, nuts while on induction. I truly love nuts. Macadamia nut, walnuts, almonds and pecans. But be careful they are additive. I had to stop buying them for a while because I went into a stall. I was indulging just a little to much. They are almost too delicious.

LOVE the macadamian nuts, but I try to stay away from the peanuts because they, to me, are very addictive and lots of them contain sugar.
