Default Hello New, but not so new...

I am just learning how to subscribe to
threads here...

Anyway...here goes.

I have been popping all over this site for
a couple of months now and would be lost
without the support.

I started out LC'ing Jan 21,2003 at 240#'s
with a goal of losing 100 #'s. As of this date
I have lost 59 lbs. Every bit of it has been
a day to day struggle. Some days more than
other's.

I have cheated, I have lied and I have begged
for just a "bite" of High Carb foods. None of this
makes me proud- but it's the truth. The part that
gets me is that the behavior hurts "ME" the most.

I have struggled with not having the young and
sexy body I once had. I hate every single stretch
mark. I hate having Bat Wings. I hate having thighs
that rub together when I walk. I also hate that belly
flap that hangs down. Soooo what have I done
about it? First, attack the source. I got rid of the
things that got me these batwings, stretchmarks....etc.
HIGH CARB FOODS! Next, got my big ole hiney off
the couch. Yep- I huffed and I puffed- but trust me
each day gets easier. Then, I started drinking over
96 oz of water a day. 96 oz for me is the minimum
amount. I find on days that I don't achieve this goal
I feel tempted to eat more and feel more sluggish.
Finally, I committed to myself that I would no longer
continue on the path towards destruction. NEVER
go BACK!

The plus side of this is that I made choices that
are better for me than going back to that old
WOL. It shows! I don't care what people say
about this WOE- PERIOD! I am not going to risk
going back to the old me because of a few
misguided people who think they know what's
best for me better than I do. I have to live with
ME all the time, not them.

I am also blessed because I found this group
of WONDERFUL people! I have learned more
here through other people's experiences that
I have used in my daily life.

Anyway, enough blabbering on and on.

I am glad to be here.

Have a BLESSED day,
Tanya

Default Exercise???

I have to confess that I am not as dedicated toward exercise as I would like to be.

Here's my theory: ANY activity is better than NO activity right?

1st: I rode the bus from our parking garage to the hospital which is about a 1/3 of a mile away. So now I walk to the hospital every day.
2nd: I rode the elevator to the 2nd floor, Now I climb stairs 2 flights of them.
3rd: I sat at my desk during lunch. Now I get up for at least 10 mins and walk the halls or climb stairs. (stair climbing will help you trim that butt and legs) Some days I do as much as 40 mins. Depends on my mood, time, etc.
4th: I would go home and cook dinner and sit in front of tv, Now I swim in pool, Tae bo or bowflex each night- except weekends.
Lately I have been swimming more than Bowflex or Tae bo.

So I have gradually incorporated more activity into my day.
If I were to sit on my boohonkus and do nothing then my results should be the same-Nothing.

I do exercise in the evening because I don't trust myself to do it earlier- eyes and brain are not funtioning properly at 5:30 when I have to get up. So it's best to do it in the evening. Plus I am tired and ready to sleep the night through.

Hope this answered your question. Remember this one pound of lean muscle burns more calories than 1 pound of fat. Gain muscle = more calories burned.

Be blessed!
Tanya

Adding in those little bits of exercise here and there rather than relying on transportation or the easy way around something is definately a good way to ease into exercise!

Default You are soooo right!

You are soooo right about that Donald!

I am so glad I don't ride the bus anymore!
I get home 15 mins earlier, plus I am getting a gorgeous tan this year. ( makes you look thinner)

I feel better for doing it!

Be blessed!
