Default zero carb foods

Most natural meats, fowl and fish have no carbs. Liver has carbs in it, also shellfish has a small amount, and mollusks have carbs too (clams, oysters, mussels, snails).

Processed meats, sausages, ham, pastrami, bacon ... have sugars and/or starch or milk ingredients added ... which of course has carbs.

Water, Perrier and other sparkling waters, club soda, most artificially sweetened soft drinks .. have no carbs.

The USDA nutrient database is a good, accurate place to look up carb counts in foods ... http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/cgi-bin/nut_search.pl

Good luck to you, and I hope you are able to acquire some books and other information that will help you on your lowcarb journey.

Doreen

Yes. And you should whenever cravings for carbs start to bother you.
